Tis the season for spooks and spectres, and we can tell you honestly - Ringwraiths are some scary, scary things! That said, today's Lord of the Rings Online is all treat and no trick! This great image was sent in to us from Tiki on the Brandywine server, who captured this image after a long night of adventure. Tiki writes in: I was in the Barrow-Downs one night, taking a break from Moria, helping lower level players and working on rep items when I stopped at the Dead Man's Perch. I saw this beautiful view of Bree town and just had to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this game. We thought the name was especially fitting for a great October screenshot. While you're out having fun this weekend, why not grab a screen from your favorite MMO for us! Just email it to oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. Halloween events are especially welcome! Yours could be the next One Shots.%Gallery-9798%

One of the features of the next Lord of the Rings Online update, Volume 2: Book 8, is a revamping of some of the game's low to mid-level quests. The latest developer diary on the official site elaborates on the methods through which this will be achieved. A great deal of the overhauling will focus on the Bree-land zone, including Bree-town. Come Book 2.8, the area will be changed to be of more use to players between the levels 14-22, and we're promised two distinct questing paths that will lead to different places in the zone, and hopefully highlight some of the bigger storylines of Bree-land.As Bree-land will become more commonly used by Tier 2 players, the crafting nodes in the area will also be changed to their Tier 2 versions. New repeatable "bounty quests" will be available, and existing quest rewards have been completely revised to ensure their usefulness for players in the adjusted level range. To learn more about all of the above changes, make sure to read the full dev diary.

Today we leap straight back into the gorgeous landscapes of Lord of the Rings Online to share a lovely sunny day. You can almost feel the sun on your face and the lovely breeze, helping to get us through the rest of the work-week. Mmmm, peaceful. Here's the short and sweet location of the above from Keliel of the Vilya Server: [I] took this shot of the ruins of Ost Barandor while tracking down quests in the farmland north of Bree-Town. Have you seen a location that was pretty, cool, or interesting while you were out questing? Perhaps you just have a favorite location to hang out in? Whatever the case may be, we'd love to see it! Send in your screens to us here at oneshots@massively.com. Yours could be featured next!%Gallery-9798%
