FIFA 13 debuted in the UK last week and the footie franchise dismissed last year's record-setting premiere. According to Chart-Track, FIFA 13 outsold the previous year's installment in units and revenue by 27 and 31 percent, respectively. The game represented 80 percent of all entertainment software sales on the British isles.Last week saw the biggest sales week in the UK of the year so far, with a 196 percent increase of unit sales in the market and 282 percent in overall revenue.FIFA 13 wasn't the only major player to come on the field last week, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria got its kung-fu panda on in fourth. Although that may seem like a lowish debut for what's still one of the biggest MMOs in the world, it should be noted that the game was available digitally and therefore wouldn't be tracked. Finally, on the hardware front, the PS3 'Super Slim' 500 GB sent PS3 sales up 138 percent, with the console representing 37 percent of PS3 sales. Borderlands 2 launched straight to number one in the UK last week, with the strongest debut of 2012 so far, besting Mass Effect 3 by 4,000 sales, according to Chart-Track. For some historical context, the original Borderlands premiered in seventh place back in 2009, with the sequel outselling the previous installment during launch week 4 to 1.Gearbox's co-op shooter wasn't the only big premiere this week, both F1 2012 and Pro Evolution Soccer debuted strongly and took second and third place, respectively. Another newcomer last week was LittleBigPlanet Vita in sixth, which had the "biggest sales week for a non-hardware launch week Vita title." Leap past the break for the UK top ten.

Sleeping Dogs is, once again, at the top of Chart-Track's UK all formats sales chart. This is the fourth week Square Enix's crime sandbox has rested comfortably on the throne, with its reign briefly broken a couple weeks ago by Guild Wars 2, which battles on in seventh.Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was the only major new addition to the chart last week, debuting in second. Chart-Track notes it's been 12 years since the previous entry on PlayStation 2, back in October of 2000. The rest of the top ten shuffles to make room. Punch past the break for the UK top ten.

Sleeping Dogs returns to the top of the UK sales chart this week. This would be the third time the Square Enix sandbox crime game has held first in the month since its debut. It took last week off for Guild Wars 2, which now sits in sixth following an 84 percent sales drop. The only new entry to the top 40 this week is the latest Sims expansion. The Sims 3: Supernatural, featuring sparkly vampires and brooding werewolves, premiered in second. It is the seventh expansion to the popular dollhouse franchise. The rest of the top ten are a mix of newer entries like Darksiders 2 and entrenched games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Guild Wars 2, the MMO so popular that its developer felt obligated to stop online sales in order to maintain quality control for players, was the top selling game in the UK last week. According to Chart-Track, the game enjoyed the "second largest launch ever for a non-Warcraft MMO PC title, behind Star Wars: The Old Republic." Let us hope that Guild Wars 2 doesn't suffer the same fate as the MMO in a galaxy far, far away.Guild Wars 2 is also the first PC-exclusive game in the UK to reach the top spot since Football Manager 2011 in November of 2010. It should be noted that Guild Wars 2 was also sold as a digitally distributed product, which would not be counted by Chart-Track.Sleeping Dogs slides one spot into second, showing it has a longer sales tail than Darksiders 2, which had sales drop 71 percent last week to go from second to sixth. Crime drama Sleeping Dogs awoke to meaty sales in the UK last week, sinking its teeth into first place. Chart-Track notes the game, developed by United Front Games and published by Square Enix, has become "the sixth best selling game on first week sales in 2012."The other major debut last week was the 3DS's New Super Mario Bros 2, which flew in at second place. Although it may seem awkward for a major Mario to launch in second, New Super Mario Bros also started its life in second place back in 2006. The game is sure to have a long (raccoon) tail.Meanwhile, London 2012: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games took bronze after a couple golden weeks.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes took silver, followed by Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games with bronze and finally Batman: Arkham City with the "participation award."There were no new games to break the top 40 last week, which should hopefully change with the launches of Sleeping Dogs and Darksiders 2 this week.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has held the top spot on Chart-Track's UK sales chart for five consecutive weeks, the first game this year to maintain that pace. Batman: Arkham City also swooped back into the top ten at the seven spot, likely boosted by The Dark Knight Rises film.Despite a price drop to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which helped boost sales 40 percent, it held third behind London 2012: The Official Video Game. Speaking of the upcoming Olympics boosting sales, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (in 8th) also saw a 13 percent increase.Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance was the only new entry in the top 40. According to Chart-Track, it is the second biggest 3DS launch this year behind Resident Evil: Revelations. See the UK top ten in 3D after the break*.*Quality of 3D may vary... or not exist at all.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes "comfortably" kept The Amazing Spider-Man away from the highest spot on Chart-Track's UK sales chart. There were three new entries in the top five last week: the web-slinger swung into second, and Spec Ops: The Line and London 2012: The Official Video Game (about... London??) landed in third and fourth place, respectively. The launch of Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC helped propel sales of the game up 121 percent. The launch of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS Vita had a similar impact, shooting the game into tenth place on the charts and sales of the game up 532 percent - making it the top selling Vita game last week "by a large margin."

The Dark Knight and pals' game is the latest chart-topper from Traveller's Tales' Lego series, with this latest title besting the first Lego Batman from 2008, which premiered in second place. The rest of the top ten is the usual rogues' gallery, with a couple exceptions like Skyrim, which flew up from spot 23 to grab number eight. FIFA Street also re-entered the top ten, climbing from 13 to storm the last spot.Civilization 5: Gods and Kings held court at No. 16 for its debut. We present the UK top ten after the break.

FIFA 12 can thank Euro 2012 for its return to the top spot on the UK's All Formats chart. That's not to say that the series has ever been far from glory. Since debuting 38 weeks ago, FIFA 12 has never dropped out of the top five and has held the top spot nine times. Nine times? Niiine times, Mrs. Bueller. That means Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rockstar's Max Payne 3, which have held first and second, respectively, for the past couple weeks, each slid down one spot. As for premieres: Zombie actioner Lollipop Chainsaw premiered in fourth, while Gravity Rush debuted in spot 11. The UK top ten families vying for the iron throne are after the break.

The UK's All Formats chart has seen very little change over the past three weeks, with Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rockstar's Max Payne 3 holding tight at first and second, respectively. FIFA 12 also maintained its position in third for a second week, as the stalwart game hasn't left the top ten since its debut last year. Game of Thrones was the only new title to break the top 40 last week, certainly a blessing of the franchise's name more than the quality of the game. Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rockstar's Max Payne 3 remained bosom buddies atop Chart-Track's UK sales chart for another week. The team of Ghost Recon kept their advantages position on the high ground for a second week, with Payne providing back-up in second. Capcom's love or hate RPG Dragon's Dogma slipped one spot into fourth, with FIFA 12 running up the field from fifth into third. Nihilistic's Resistance: Burning Skies for Vita debuted at the 12 spot. Chart-Track notes the previous handheld Resistance title was Resistance: Retribution for PSP, which failed to crack the top 40. The UK top ten invade after the break.%Gallery-149219%

Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier had the best premiere of the franchise this past week in the UK. Five installments in (the first in 2001), Ghost Recon: Future Soldier saw its best week one sales of the series, but Chart-Track does note the previous game had a staggered release across formats. Max Payne 3 sales dropped 51 percent in its second week, but the pill-popping hero's dive -- like everything dramatic he does -- was done in slow motion, leaving him in second place. Capcom's "love it or hate it" Dragon's Dogma debuted in third. Other new titles this week in the top 40 include Mario Tennis Open and Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock at 11 and 34, respectively. Max has beaten a lot of personal demons, but last week he took on the Diablo at retail and won. According to Chart-Track, Max Payne 3 outperformed the previous sequel (from 2003) nearly 10 to 1. Chart-Track also noted the third installment in the Payne series bested Diablo 3 by only about 8,000 sales. With Max Payne 3 only available through disc-based sales and Diablo 3 available through digital distribution, it would be fair to guess Diablo actually sold more. That is, if you believe Diablo 3 sold over 8,000 units online in the UK last week. The rest of the top ten are the usual suspects. So, pop some pain killers and shoot past the break for the UK top ten.

Thanks to another week of minimal competition, Sniper Elite V2 maintains its vantage point atop the UK charts for a second week. The game may have seen sales drop 38 percent, but none of the new entries made any type of shakeup on the charts, with the regular motley crew holding the top ten. The EA triplets of FIFA 12, FIFA Street and Mass Effect 3 find themselves in second, third and fifth place, respectively. Nudging in there for some cuddle time in fourth is Prototype 2. Sony's Starhawk is the only new title to crack the top 40, flying in at spot 17 for its debut. March on past the break for the UK top ten.%Gallery-151767%

Sniper Elite V2 is naturally going to want a position at the top of Chart-Track's UK charts... it's the best vantage point. Thankfully, there wasn't very much competition around, as evidenced by what is probably the shortest overview of last week's sales activity by the stat tracking company in recent memory. The prior week's top performer, Prototype 2, fell one spot into second. It was followed by the EA triplets that never seem to be apart: FIFA 12, FIFA Street and Mass Effect 3. Beyond that, no new games to report making moves, no major shuffling of the status quo.
