Chris Pine wants to reclaim Scotland in Netflix’s ‘Outlaw King’
Netflix released a trailer today for its historical film Outlaw King. Starring Chris Pine, the film tells the story of Robert the Bruce and his effort to reclaim control of Scotland from the King of England. In the trailer, we see Robert the Bruce in hiding after being declared an outlaw and his family being questioned and brutalized by those attempting to hunt him down. "I'm done with running and I'm sick of hiding," we hear him say. What follows is a series of scenes showing Robert the Bruce building his following and fighting back against "the strongest army in the world."
Hulu recruits Chris Pine for Bobby Kennedy miniseries
Hulu is in the midst of a banner year for original programming, mainly due to the success of The Handmaid's Tale. The acclaimed series put the streaming service on the peak TV map, and helped secure the majority of its 18 Emmy nods. Armed with that acclaim, Hulu is setting to work on its next high-profile show. And, this time it's roping in a Hollywood A-lister to help out. The platform is reportedly developing a miniseries about US senator Robert F. Kennedy starring Chris Pine as the politician, reports Deadline.
Tom Clancy's 'Jack Ryan' is now an Amazon exclusive series
Tom Clancy's famous fictional CIA agent Jack Ryan is back in action after 2013's critical and commercial disappointment Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Amazon has greenlit a 10-episode series, exclusive to Prime Video, that will star John Krasinski, of The Office fame, as the titular hero. Plot details are scarce, though it seems the series will be an origins story, with Ryan being an up-and-coming CIA analyst fighting terrorist groups.
