If you've been wanting to see the two high-end Windows phones Microsoft has been developing, then you don't have to wait until the official launch. Evleaks has posted the renders for both devices on Twitter: the larger, cyan one with a 5.7-inch screen is known as codename Cityman, while the black phone with a 5.2-inch screen is Talkman. They're expected to have Quad HD displays, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 5-megapixel front shooters. Cityman might be powered by an eight-core chip, while its smaller sibling might be equipped with a six-core processor.

One of the biggest gripes among Windows phone devotees is a lack of high-powered devices as of late. How are you supposed to be a hardcore fan when most of the lineup is downright basic? At last, though, Microsoft appears to be catering to that need for speed. Both Unleash the Phones and The Verge understand that the Redmond crew is working on two range-topping Windows 10 phones, nicknamed Cityman and Talkman in a nod to Nokia's early handsets. They'd both be powerhouses with Quad HD screens, 3GB of RAM, 20-megapixel rear cameras, 5-megapixel front shooters and 32GB of expandable storage. It'd really boil down to your preference of screen size. The Talkman would be the mid-size model with a 5.2-inch display and a six-core processor (likely the LG G4's Snapdragon 808), while the Cityman would up the ante with a 5.7-inch screen and an eight-core (possibly Snapdragon 810) chip.

  • Nokia N97 Cityman disguise knocks N97 back a good two or three years technologically

Americans probably associate Motorola-style brick phones with... well, Motorola, but Nokia had an equally vogue model way back in 1987: the Mobira Cityman. Like the N97, the Cityman was a dark gray beast from another era that combined the industrial design of a Mack truck with the user interface ergonomics of a PDP-11 -- but on the plus side, it made a terrific weapon in a pinch. It seems only fitting, then, that the two models would be united in holy matrimony through a wacky gag accessory for the N97 sent to The Nokia Blog from Nokia's WOM World, allegedly said to have antitheft properties by making your brand new Nseries look like a giant version of its great-great-great-great-great-grandfather. Ironically, an actual Mobira Cityman is probably worth more as a collectible in 2009 than an N97 is, so the effect might be quite the opposite of Nokia's intent -- but yes, of course we want one anyway. Follow the break for video of the Cityman not being stolen.
