If you've been keeping up with Coded Soul, you'll probably get a kick out of this video interview with Uke Keigareshi. He talks about some of the ideas and concepts behind the game, but there's one big twist to this whole thing -- the interview is in Japanese. And subtitles are nonexistent. So, if any readers out there understand Japanese, feel free to slap up some of the important points from the video. Otherwise, enjoy the very limited game footage!

Despite the fact that there's not much PSP action in North America this week, the two other major regions are getting some games that should please just about all PSP owners.North America Games Downstream Panic! Europe Games Final Fantasy Final Fantasy II Asia Games Mobile Suit Gundam Gundam: Giren's Ambition - Axis no Kyoui Bomberman Land Portable (Hudson the Best) Coded Soul: Uke Keigareshi Idea NBA Live 07 (EA Best Hits) It seems weird that the Final Fantasy remakes are just now getting their European releases, since they were released Stateside in June and July last year. In Asia, gamers are getting yet another Gundam title, and they usually sell like hotcakes so it will be interesting to see how well it does.[Edit: Oops, we were wrong, or should we say Sony's official PSP site failed to list Downstream Panic! as shipping this week.]

Coded Soul, PSP's upcoming monster-collecting adventure, has us quite excited. As fans of PS3's Folklore (aka FolksSoul), we're intrigued by this semi-sequel. Interestingly, this portable game seems to be going for a much edgier look than its console counterpart, with a darker style that really makes it look quite unique for a PSP game. The adventure releases next week in Asia, and we're hoping it's as good as we want it to be.Check out new screenshots at GameSpot.[Via PSPHyper]

We all knew that Coded Soul was going to be related to Folklore (aka FolksSoul in Asia). But, we were still surprised to see so many creatures return from the PS3 adventure for this PSP-exclusive RPG. The Japanese official website has been updated, and those that played Folklore will be pleasantly surprised by a number of returning monsters. New screenshots are available, in the "World" section of the site -- and boy, does the game look stunning. Check out more screenshots at Famitsu.

Game Republic, makers of PS3 title Folklore, have been working on the PSP title Coded Soul for a while now. The game is shrouded in a lot of things, predominantly mystery. What information we can glisten generally come by means of pretty pictures or, as the recently updated Japanese site reveals, video. There are updated character pictures and profiles to check out and the new video may or may not answer some of the questions you've had about the game. We'll keep you up to date if anything else changes.

The upcoming Coded Soul has us intrigued. We enjoyed both Monster Summoner and Folklore, and we can't wait to see what this original PSP adventure has in store. IGN has unearthed a few more details. The story: "In Coded Soul, you play as Jay, a soldier who travels to the world of Idea to save his girlfriend, May. The army has been conducting research into Monolith Gate, the door to the world of Idea. That door is controlled by Gale, a young boy who gives Jay a special power as he travels to the other side."Randomly generated dungeons hold a hundred monsters to capture and use. Players can't stay in dungeons forever, given a time limit that restricts their stay. By sending items back and forth from Folklore on PS3, players will unlock new quests.Sony will publish the game in February in Japan.

Kouji Okada, creator of the Shin Megami Tensei series, is bringing yet another RPG to the PSP. Just like his previous effort, Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner, this RPG focuses on capturing monsters and using them in battles. Like any good portable monster collecting RPG, there's an ad-hoc mode, which will not only let you battle, but trade with other players. The game will also link up to the PS3 Folklore (also known as Folks Soul), but in what way, we're unsure. Monster Kingdom was a solid game on PSP, and Folklore was even better. Let's hope that Okada can really hammer this one on the head too.[Via PSPHyper]
