  • Instagram adds Photo Page to web: new colors, user comments, not much else

Instagram's been moving along briskly with its Android and iOS apps, but the hipster-tinter-photo-sharing-Facebook acquisition's web presence has been lagging behind in comparison. But there's good news now if you're desk-bound thanks to the new "Photo Page," which lets you log in, change your profile and add comments or likes to images. The other tweak is a fresh look for the site, matching the app with a blue, dare we say, Facebook-esque theme and larger images, no doubt to show off those mega-megapixel smartphone cameras. It's likely a first step in unifying its web offering and apps, and with a name like Photo Page, no one can accuse it of wasting that Facebook booty on marketing whizzes.

While it's definitely good news that Time Warner Cable is revisiting its Navigator guide again, the bad news is that at least in terms of appearance, very little has changed. The screenshots above show the old guide (left) next to the new one (right) and as you can see, other than a color scheme adjustment to match its new apps, things are almost entirely the same. In terms of functional adjustments, names have changed for some of the menus, and now the A button on the remote pulls up channels listed by category, the B button searches by title and the select button lets you know if features like Start Over, Look Back or VOD are available. According to CED Magazine, the guide's (slight) facelift also goes hand in hand with a new cloud-based video on-demand portal that includes with richer graphics and metadata, as a prelude to more cloud-provided navigation and IPTV set-top boxes. So far we're seeing notes that the new guide is being delivered in Syracuse and Charlotte, if you haven't received it yet Time Warner Cable says it will be running newspaper ads ahead of the change in each area -- people still read newspapers, right? Update: We're told that another new feature of the update is the ability to filter out any channels you want from the guide. Check one box on the Ben-o-vision form.

Each week, WoW Insider brings you a fresh look at reader-submitted UIs as well as Addon Spotlight, spotlighting the latest user interface addons. Have a screenshot of your own UI that you'd like to submit? Send your screenshots, along with info on what mods you're using, to readerui@wow.com. I'm still taking submissions for another Community Choice Addon Spotlight! Email me your favorite addons at mat@wow.com. I have been enjoying Cataclysm way more than I thought I would. Sure, I knew that the expansion was going to be a great experience, and my beta testing time was filled with awesome dungeon runs and getting a feel for the lay of the land, but I never could imagine how the community could come together so quickly on the live servers. Everything has been really great so far, and I've been enjoying every second of it. A lot of my enjoyment of the new content has come from the fact that all of my addons and interface elements did not explode when the new content went live. Having a few weeks to tinker around with our UIs helped a huge amount in getting everything ready for the new expansion. Thank you, Blizzard. Let's do that every time. This week, Reader UI checks out Quantus' UI, a nice and clean user interface that takes a bunch of interface elements and does some unique things with them that I didn't really consider. I think you'll get some great ideas from Quantus' setup, especially the way certain elements on the bottom bar relate to each other.

Each week, we bring you a fresh look at reader-submitted UIs. Have a screenshot of your UI you want to submit? Send your screenshots, along with info on what mods you're using, to readerui@wow.com. Hey, guys. What's up? Did you all have a fun weekend? That's nice. I'm glad to hear it. What's that? You waited all weekend and were champing at the bit for more Reader UI of the Week? That is so incredibly kind of you! Well, looks like I'll have to deliver, then. Sadly, I'm going slightly mad since I have about 21 quests remaining for Loremaster of Kalimdor, and it's all hunt-and-peck now. I feel like an old woman learning how to type. This week, Coe's UI takes center stage. The setup is straightforward and simple, with a blocky flair that I instantly fell in love with. Stark contrasts in color as well as carefully placed addons makes Coe's UI pleasing on the heart, mind and eyes.
