Despite yesterday's reports that a Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars demo was set to drop today, it remains unseen. The demo was unofficially announced via a forum post by an Electronic Arts employee. Either the employee was misinformed or the demo is still clearing certification hurdles at Microsoft. Of course, there are still many hours left in the day for the demo to drop, but as most demos hit in the morning, we're less than optimistic.Rest assured, we'll let you know when it's live.

Command & Conquer 3 Community Manager EA Apoc said in a forum post today that a demo for the anticipated Xbox 360 strategy game, currently out on PC, will be available on Xbox Live tomorrow. No word from the Major Nelson yet; a C&C3 theme pack and HD trailer was released yesterday. Apoc's forum post announcement is not an official confirmation, and there could be technical delays outside of publisher Electronic Arts' control (i.e. on Microsoft's side). Command & Conquer 3 will come out on Xbox 360 on May 10; it was released on PC late last month to positive reviews. The development team, EA Los Angeles, was also responsible for the Xbox 360 strategy title Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II, whose controls were surprisingly well done for a genre that typically does not map well to consoles. Should it prove true, we're sure to be one of the first to download the demo. [Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]

According to a moderator post on the Command & Conquer 3 forums, the anticipated demo of the game will arrive on Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow. Finally, RTS fans will have a chance to test out the revised console control scheme originally developed for Battle for Middle Earth II. Only this time, instead of pitting orcs against elves, it will be NOD versus GDI. There are also gamer pics, 2 new trailers, and themes available for download right now. Get 'em while they're hot. Should you enjoy the demo, the retail version of C&C 3 hits store shelves May 10th.[Thanks, lord hobo]

Half the fun of playing games on the Xbox 360 is unlocking achievements. Hell, just saying the word achievement feels pretty good. Try it: "achieeeeevement." Feels good, doesn't it? Because we all love achievements so much, we bring you the full achievement list for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, which arrives next month. The list comes to us courtesy of Achieve360Points and it's quite a list. It's refreshing to see that the bulk of the achievements are located in the single player campaign, as many games reserve the big points for multiplayer. Hopefully, this means everyone will be well versed in the game when they finally jump over to multiplayer. Of course, there are a handful of multiplayer achievements as well, including plenty of shame achievements worth 0 points. For example, lose a game to someone ranked 20 places below you and you'll net the "Losing Face" achievement. Hit the "read" link to see all 22 achievements.A demo of C&C3 should hit marketplace within the next few weeks.

Having already enjoyed its PC debut, Command & Conqer 3: Tiberium Wars finally has a release date on the Xbox 360. C&C3 will arrive for the Xbox 360 on May 10th (not May 8th). Even better, Electronic Arts will release a demo of the game on Marketplace in the coming weeks. In celebration, EA has released a handful of new screen shots as well as the official box art for the game.Command & Conquer 3 represents EA's second attempt to bring an authentic RTS experience to a home console. Naturally, this is a somewhat difficult process without the aid of a mouse and keyboard. EA's first attempt, Battle for Middle Earth II was decent, though not perfect. Here's hoping that Command & Conquer 3 finally delivers the ultimate RTS experience to console players. Hit the "read" link for new screens.Anyone plan on picking this up?[Thanks, lord hobo]

  • Tiberium Wars 'commands' UK charts, 'conquers' PS3 Resistance

Back in August 1999 Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun dominated the UK's All Formats Chart for a 4-week stretch. Today the EA-owned RTS series is back on top, as Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars debuts at #1 (for the week ending March 31) -- and there can be only one, #1. Indeed, just as PlayStation 3 hardware sales have quickly cooled, so have sales of the console's top software titles, Resistance and Motorstorm, both dropping more than 60% in sales from two weeks ago (when the titles commanded the top spots) to last week, when they slipped, however slightly in the rankings to #2 and #3. Coincidentally, this isn't the first time that C&C and PlayStation have done the bump n' grind on UK sales charts. During the final week of September 1995, both Westwood Studios' original Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn) and Sony's first PlayStation system made their UK retail debuts.

Canada's little brother to Best Buy, Future Shop has a release date listed for Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Apparently the game will release on May 8th, 2007, but you can never tell with site just trying to nab pre-orders. In any case, it looks like Command and Conquer 3 will be joining the ranks of the other major titles coming at the cusp of summer. Will you be looking to get your Real Time Strategizing on in a couple scant months?[Thanks, Colin]

We've had a lot of Command & Conquer 3 coverage lately, but so far we haven't seen many videos of pure, unbroken gameplay. Fear not fanboys, for GameVideos has risen to the challenge, delivering over three minutes of unadulterated destruction. Watch as the forces of the GDI, the Brotherhood of NOD, and the Scrin go head to head. With so much happening on screen at once, we can only hope that the 360 version manages to run without a hitch, especially during Live matches. • C&C3 altered for German consumption

We love it when a violent game is making its way to Germany. Why? Because we inevitably get to type out the name of Germany's ratings board: Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK). Say that three times fast. According to CVG, EA will be altering Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars so that it is suitable for Germany's impressionable youth. It seems the game's suicide bombers will no longer actually commit suicide. Instead, these more risk averse almost-suicide bombers will remove their deadly explosive payload and run away. EA notes that this is only an animation change and that it will not affect the game balance in any way. This isn't the first game to fall under the USK's ratings hammer. Other 360 titles, including Dead Rising and Gears of War, have been banned from the country outright. Of course, smart gamers know that they can pick up an Austrian copy. At any rate, Command & Conquer 3 for the PC debuts this month, with the 360 version following soon after.

Not long ago, it was revealed that Command & Conquer 3 would feature Vision camera support on the Xbox 360. It was previously believed that players would only be able to see each other before and after a match, but this video shows video chat windows during the match as well. All in all, the video reveals two things. One, Vision cam support is perfect for a game like Command & Conquer. Two, this may be the most annoying feature ever conceived. The video goes out of its way to show us how annoying this feature could be, and we're not exactly sure that's good marketing strategy, but the feature is at least promising. Also, the video features actual 360 footage, giving us a look at the 360 control interface. It looks essentially like Battle for Middle Earth II, which we were expecting. It does, however, look much faster than BFMEII, which is definitely welcome. For now, C&C3 for the 360 is saddled with a nebulous spring 2007 release date. Anyone plan on picking it up? Watch the video and tell us what you think (you can also grab the HD version here).

Xboxygen has a new trailer for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Unfortunately, the footage is purely cutscene and doesn't show any gameplay, but it does feature some pretty explosions and more of Kane's alleged baddass attitude. It also gives more insight into the NOD perspective on this contention. Xboxygen has a 720p version available for download, should you be interested. So what side are you going to take if you plan on picking this up?[Thanks, DjDATZ]

Xboxyde managed to wrangle a new trailer for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. The new trailer mixes gameplay footage with video cutscenes. Command & Conquer fans know that the series typically favors full motion video over CG cutscenes, and this video lives up to that tradition. The video brings in some serious talent, too. In particular we must point out the inclusion of Billy Dee "Lando Calrissian" Williams and Michael "Sam Fisher" Ironside. Hit the "read" link to check out the trailer.C&C3 releases next month. Hopefully the control scheme has been successfully tweaked since BFMEII. Anyone planning on picking this one up?

EA released a new video of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium wars today. This video reveals an all new faction, the Scrin. The Scrin is an alien race with lots of lasery goodness and units that look like they were pulled directly out of War of the Worlds. Judging from the new trailer, they're not friendly aliens either. A handful of new screen shots were released as well. Check them out after the break.

Today's most-popular GameTrailers video is a trailer for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars. RTS fans hope that the third C&C title lives up to the classic original, and the early word is that the March (PC) game should be fun. RTS aside, we're most excited about the return of full-motion videos with real actors. Bring on the emotion. Watch the FMV-free trailer after the break, and take a peak at a bonus video from last year that shows Joe Kucan as Kane.

Support for the Xbox Live Vision webcam has been slow to develop. When you look at how EA is implementing the product into Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars it's easy to see why. Would you want to watch some pimply-faced kid shake his stuff after obliterating you and whoever else on the battlefield? Here's to hoping the 'Spotlight' feature -- giving match winners an uncontested 10 seconds of air time -- can be easily disabled.

GameTrailers has posted some new footage of Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. The video showcases the game's two factions, the GDI (Global Defense Initiative, i.e. the good guys) and NOD (the Brotherhood of Nod, i.e. the bad guys). The GDI focuses on powerful, but slow moving units. The video features massive two-turreted tanks, missile launching foot soldiers, and some powerful mechs. The Brotherhood focuses on attacking and escaping quickly. The video features many vehicles capable of teleporting in and out of battle for quick strikes, including jets, jeeps, and laser/flamethrower wielding mechs. Watch the video after the break.

How about some non-launch news today? EA has announced that the upcoming real-time strategy game Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is bound for the Xbox 360 and will ship sometime in 2007. The development is being taken care of by the same team responsible for Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, which garnered good reviews and houses some of the original C&C developers from Westwood. BFMII did sport impressive controls for a console RTS, which gives us some hope for C&C3's future. As is common with Xbox 360 titles, downloadable content on Xbox Live Marketplace is promised, according to the press release. This marks the first console-bound Command & Conquer title since Nintendo 64. RTS title has historically suffered from marred control schemes, as a mouse has always seemed to dominate over a joystick for cursor accuracy (and, subsequently, micromanagement). We reported that Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars was bound for 360 way back in June. 4 months later, it looks like EA has finally seen fit to give official confirmation. Building (and hopefully improving) upon the control scheme developed for Battle for Middle Earth II, C&C3 promises a great campaign as well as a huge multiplayer component all in a futuristic setting. Two screens, including the image above, have been released and they look awfully nice -- see hi-res versions on Xboxyde. No doubt, RTS enthusiasts will prefer to play on their PC, but it's nice for 360 fanboys to have a more couch-friendly option. Read the full press release (politely borrowed from Fraggerock) after the break.

Josh Holloway (Lost), Billy Dee Williams (The Empire Strikes Back), Grace Park and Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) have been announced as part of the cast for Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. The two Cylons, Sawyer, and Lando Calrissian will be joining Joseph D. Kucan, who has played Kane in every Command and Conquer game since its inception, and the voice of Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher, Michael Ironside. Tiberium Wars is slated for release sometime in 2007 for PC. Traditionally, the series has used real actors for its in-game clips and cutscenes. Here's to hoping each actor will have their own in-game unit, chock full of colorful phrases. Continue reading for the full cast list.
