Many of our favorite geek heroes have been in situations where they were almost -- and we mean almost -- squashed to a juicy, pancake-y death. Luke, Han, Leia and Chewy were half-recycled, Indiana Jones has been inches away from rolling-pinnings and de-limbings on numerous occasions, and Bilbo was just about squished into troll jelly that one time. And now it's our turn! Claustrophilia, the second, less artsy-fartsy title from iCarus dev, Sir Realism, dares you to dodge sliding blocks of death in a game that looks as fun as it is frustrating. Claustrophilia offers 7 different game modes, local two-player matches and confetti. Snag it now for $5, if you're quick enough.

  • MacBook Air meets bus, bus wins

Struggling to find a little something to be grateful for on this day of Thanksgiving? How about the fact that this isn't your laptop? While details are a tad sketchy, it seems that the owner of this MacBook Air somehow let his prized possession slip under a bus, which promptly drove right over it. Amazingly, the Air does apparently still work (apart from a little issue with the screen), although it's pretty clear that the bus came out ahead in this match-up. Hit up the link below for a few more pics. [Thanks, Akouris]

It's amazing how much one can be affected by virtual friendship. I remember first meeting Ginny Talamasca when I was a wee newb. My friends were raving about her store, Dazzle Haute Couture, where she mostly sold formal wear. From that moment on, I was addicted to her clothing. I literally bought 99% of what she made. Given the amount of real money I spent keeping up with her heavy production of attire, I soon needed a Second Life job to support my habit. That's how I got into Machinima. When I first discovered this new method of expressing myself, I went wild with filming. Then I discovered that I could make my avatar lipsync what I was saying. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I was going to create a Machinima declaring how great I thought Ginny was as a friend, a designer, and an inspiration to the community. I would invite her friends to say kind words about her and I would animate them. The project never ended up getting very far off the ground, but as a filmmaker is often married to their footage, most of it was saved. Upon hearing of his (she would later be revealed as a man in real life) death, I unearthed some of this footage.Read on for more memories of Ginny ...

  • Nano crushed by highway traffic

We've finally found something that can kill an Apple product: 30 minutes of highway traffic. Sam O. wrote in to tell us what happened to his brother's 2G Nano-- his grandmother apparently found it in the driveway, and decided to pick it up and put it on the hood of his car. He didn't realize this had happened, however, until he'd driven out for some errands, so after swearing profusely for a bit, he got back in the car to follow his route and see if he could spot it.It's hot pink, obviously, so he did find it-- just in time to see an 18-wheel semi run it over. The gory results are below. We've seen Apple products take quite a licking and keep on ticking before, but apparently sitting on the highway for 30 minutes in Boise, ID will shut them down for good. Good to know.Of course, the real question is: did AppleCare cover it?%Gallery-6537%
