We're pretty sure the CUBO must come from a combination of the words "cute" and "robot" (or perhaps, cueball?) because this is just the most adorable little thing that we've ever seen. IZI Robotics has just demoed this brother of Netoy at the Next Generation Computing Show 2006 in Korea, and the staff of AVING was wowed by its myriad of abilities; CUBO can read books to kids, teach English, provide "home monitoring," update the news and weather, give a wake-up call, and even comes with something called "robot mail." We're not sure what that is, but we're hoping that it isn't the sinister communications channel that we've been fearing all robots have for when they take over the world with their collective cuteness.

While it's no Spidernaut robot, fans of the anime series Ghost in the Shell will surely appreciate this new robot creation of the Tachikoma. Although Wikipedia tells us that regular Tachikoma "are as large as an average sedan," this miniature version probably could fit in your desk drawer. From what we can tell based on the videos, it only speaks Japanese, except for a high-pitched "bye-bye!" that is accompanied by a really cute wave. Cute for an anime robot, anyway. If you can read Japanese, tell us what the rest of the page says in the comments, m'kay?[Via Robot Gossip]

really expensive cat toy was sent in by Brenden, and it is cute and scary all at the same time (I wouldn't like a kitten do that to my new MacBook Pro, but then again I'm a stick in the mud). Before anyone chimes in, I would like to point out two things: This video is really cute. I mean, a kitten and a MacBook Pro? Yes, it is a slow news day.

Garfield's bringing the console and Frank here is bringing an extra controller and some games. Sure, they're not all 360 games but the titles I can see in the image, Sega GT, Halo, and Halo 2, are all on the (newly-updated) back-compat list. Oh StuffOnMyCat.com, when will I tire of your barrage of burdened felines?

From AFK Gamer comes this example of a UI that's gone one step too far. There's cute, and then there's... this. Fortunately, other players have no idea what UI you're using--it would be interesting seeing the reactions to this ingame if they did.The UI looks to be Discord Art with some custom artwork involved--if you're feeling brave, why not try creating your own?
