HBO and Warner have finally announced what Deadwood fans are waiting for -- no, not a movie or new season -- the complete series is coming to Blu-ray, with all 36 episodes in one boxed set. Getting all of the wild west into your Blu-ray player won't be cheap however, as it's carrying a $209.98 MSRP (currently on Amazon for $146.99), with no additional extras over what were already on the previous DVD releases. Still, seeing everything in 1080p with a DTS-HD MA soundtrack is what you're here for, and HBO claims this series is the most demanded on after only The Sopranos and Rome so there should be plenty of fans unwrapping these this holiday season.

I can sum this MMO up in one sentence: If you liked Diablo, you'll like this. However, I sense that you'd like more from this than a mere summary, so I'm happy to oblige. Bear in mind that Mythos, by Flagship Studios, the guys who gave us Hellgate: London, is still in Beta, so any of what I report here can change at any time. Still, it looks great, it performs well, and it scratches that Diablo itch like nothing else. So I suppose you could say that this is a hit, rather than a myth. BWAHAHAHAHAHAAA! Oh, my pleasures are so few.%Gallery-10781%

Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe is in talks with Sky, trying to get it to distribute content for PSP users. Programs that are broadcast by Sky in the UK and Ireland include 24, Lost, The Simpsons, Deadwood, and more. This partnership will be crucial for Sony's plans in educating the general public about the multimedia functionality of Sony's handheld. The service will supposedly launch by year's end. There's no indication that Sony Computer Entertainment of America will follow suit with a similar program.[Via PALGN]

  • Deadwood star replaces Vin Diesel in Hitman movie

No, not Swearengen! Vin Diesel has been replaced by Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant as star of the upcoming Hitman movie, reports Ain't It Cool News. Bullock as Agent 47? Perhaps Olyphant's range as an actor will lend itself to the role of a brooding sociopath -- more so than what "The Pacifier" could bring to the big screen.Whatever the outcome, Skip Woods has completed his script, and the Hitman project has received the greenlight, with Luc Besson (Transporter 2) recently climbing aboard as co-producer. Hitman could be in theatres as early as next fall. We ain't holding our breath.

What we're watching: The Emmys are in standard-def tonight, which would be bad enough but since it also bumps preseason Sunday Night Football it is especially irksome. ABC & Fox decide to combat TV awards by showing movies, with Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars Episode II both kicking off at 7. The season finales of Deadwood, Entourage and Lucky Louie are all on deck for tonight so it might make sense to skip that 480i awards show, watch shows in HD that will probably grab a statue or two, and check out the liveblogged recap on TV Squad later. What we're watching: Finally Sunday nights are getting interesting for HD again. While we've got the usual HBO lineup with stars like Deadwood and Entourage, INHD's Mojo TV block and Showtime's Brotherhood queued up in their usual slots, lets not forget about football and uh...football/futbol/soccer. First we've got the return of professional football with NBC's Sunday Night Football as the Philadelphia Eagles face the Oakland Raiders. Sure it's just pre-season NFL action but our first look at Donovan McNabb and Randy Moss on the field in a while, plus John Madden and Al Michaels in the booth ensures good times for all in 1080i.Also on HDNet we've got the other kind of football, with two live games, one domestic, one international. Sleepy Hollow pops up on TNT, so you can compare what will likely be stretched or cropped to the HD DVD release. Last but not least Showtime's original movie Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out airs tonight, with Super 8 home video footage made by the bands drummer at the height of their popularity. Our traditional high-def listings continue below.

  • Pull up a chair for Deadwood-themed poker

Deadwood, HBO's stellar, curse-infused western, is returning with their third-season and, as a promotion, they've enlisted Fuel Games to create a browser-based poker game called Dead Man's Hand. As Deadwood is to westerns, Dead Man's Hand is to poker games. The developers describe it thusly: "Dead Man's Hand is a first-person 3D Texas Hold'em game that allows you to sit down at the table with the characters from the show: Al Swearengen, E.B. Farum and Trixie.  But poker with Al Swearengen is a dangerous game, and he's a less-than-graceful loser.  You'll need more than luck to get out of the game alive."Just like real poker, you can raise, fold, call or pull out your six shooter and start shooting bottles, lamps and the people you're playing against.  Just be careful who you point your gun at, lest you end up downing a shot of hot lead."As much as I want to be called a c*cksucker by Swearengen, I can't get the durned thing to run. The game requires the Virtools plugin to run and Intel Mac owners will need to run a PowerPC-compiled browser under Rosetta; Universal binary browsers don't work. I'll keep tinkering. In the meantime, anyone else sating their Deadwood-desires with Dead Man's Hand?[Via Wonderland]Read - I hardly know her! (Fuel Games Blog)Play - Dead Man's Hand (HBO.com)

What we're watching: While The 4400 season premiere is regrettably SD tonight, we will be checking out new beginnings for several series tonight. HBO has a great lineup with Deadwood, Entourage (now in HD), the series premiere of Lucky Louie and Dane Cook's Tourgasm. Couple that with Heat at Mavericks in Game 2 of the NBA finals on ABC and we have a very good night of high-def watching in front of us.Our traditional high-def listings continue below.

What we're watching: If you know me on a Sunday night, you know it's all about Grey's Anatomy, back with a new episode after taking a week off. *shrug*, I'm at work when General Hospital is on and I gotta get my fill of soap opera-y doctoring. It's even one of Sarah's Top 5 of 2005. I'm probably going to have to hand in my man card if anyone finds out I read the fake blog of one of the characters.Edit: Oops, looks like the Grey's Anatomy ep is one of those lame recap episodes, feel free to skip if you're up to speed already. (Thanks Bill K)If Grey's isn't your speed, HBO has The Sopranos followed up by Deadwood in glistening 1080i, and I hear that in surround sound you can actually tell what the people in Deadwood are saying. Crazy, I know. After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
