'Don't Starve Together' arrives on PS4 with a huge bundle
Thanks to being a freebie for PlayStation Plus subscribers, Don't Starve earned a solid following on PlayStation 4. To reward that, the developers at Klei Entertainment have put together a massive bundle headlined by the console version of the multiplayer expansion, Don't Starve Together. The Don't Starve Mega Pack includes previous expansions Shipwrecked, Reign of Giants, the base game and a few themes based on Autumn and the nautical Shipwrecked pack.
'Don't Starve: Shipwrecked' gets a PS4 release date
If you own a PlayStation 4 and have been patiently waiting to play Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, then you're in luck. The nautical-themed expansion will be released on August 2nd on the PSN store, with a 10 percent launch discount to boot. Though that August 2nd date is only a few weeks away, this marks a several month delay for the expansion. Shipwrecked was originally supposed to launch on Sony's console sometime this spring.
'Don't Starve: Shipwrecked' lands on your PS4 this spring
If you're thoroughly hooked on Don't Starve but don't want to retreat to your PC to play Shipwrecked, we have good news. Klei and Capybara have announced that Shipwrecked will be available on the PlayStation 4 sometime this spring. There's no mention of any big changes for this console release (we wouldn't expect any), but that's fine -- the real emphasis here is on adapting Don't Starve's quirky survival gameplay to a world full of tropical islands and horrible sea monsters. And if you need to get your fix on the road, be patient. Klei's Corey Rollins says his studio is "looking in to" the possibility of a PlayStation Vita port for Shipwrecked, so you might have a portable option in the future.
'Don't Starve: Shipwrecked' washes ashore on Steam
Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, the nautical themed expansion for one of our favorite survival games is finally out of Early Access on Steam and ready for your consumption. If you'll remember, this add-on is the result of a partnership between original developer Klei Entertainment and the folks behind Below and Super Time Force, Capybara Games. The single-player expansion (the co-op focused Don't Starve Together released last year) introduces plenty of new deadly goodies like sailing, seasons and crafting recipes -- all incredibly likely to put your ability to follow the game's name to the test. As an incentive to give it the old college try, Steam has the game on sale for $4.50 during its launch period.
