Dragon Ball Online is officially on its way to the other world, as NetMarble has announced that the game will be shutting down in its two remaining territories. Korea's Dragon Ball Online server went offline September 26th and the Taiwan server is set for closure on October 31st. Once Taiwan goes dark, the Dragon Ball MMO will officially be no more. Dragon Ball Online launched in Korea in 2010, followed by releases in Taiwan and Hong Kong in 2011. The game took place 216 years after the Dragon Ball manga series and was under the creative control of original Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.

Normally we don't cover the opening of games in far, far off countries, like Korea. They usually don't affect us very much, and we're usually not that interested. But how can you not be interested when a game's power level is over 9,000!!!!!!Yes, that's twice we've used the same meme in the same article. We apologize. But Dragonball Online's website is finally up over at Netmarble's games portal. Akira Toriyama's artstyle has translated beautifully to the game, looking much like his signature style in Dragon Quest.

PSP will be the sole home of the next Dragonball game. While every game in the series so far has been based on the anime and manga, Dragonball: Evolution will be based on the upcoming live action movie from 20th Century Fox. The game will be available in April, just in time for the movie's theatrical release. The character models are based on the live action actors, as opposed to the anime characters so familiar to DBZ fans. We're not sure how well this game will fare, considering it looks just as bad, if not worse, than the movie.%Gallery-42642%

I've wanted to do a post on Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition for a while now, but I just couldn't put my finger on what I wanted to talk about with it. The rules are very much made in the vein of World of Warcraft -- you can tell that by just opening up the book, going to the classes and seeing all of the various powers that you can obtain by leveling -- and the whole system feels a bit more MMO-ish than normal. The funny part is, if you're expecting a "D&D Fourth Edition blows" rant, you're not going to get one. Instead, let me entertain your opinions on the way we design our MMOs. This column is dedicated to something I like to call the "Kamehameha Fallacy," otherwise lovingly known as the "Mine's Bigger!!!!!11one" syndrome. This fallacy is the reason you're addicted to MMOs, the reason you hate Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition, and the reason today's MMO leader (World of Warcraft) is doomed to fail all wrapped up into one little ball.

PS3 software topped the charts in Japan this week, thanks to the release of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. It's amazing to see that, years after the end of the series, the dedication to this popular manga/anime goes strong. Although this brawler is multiplatform, you wouldn't be able to tell from this week's top 10 software charts. It'll be interesting to see what they look like next week, when Metal Gear Solid 4 reigns terror upon the charts. Yesterday was a big day for Atari. They released new images, no not of Phil Harrison high ontop of his throne, but of the upcoming next-gen debut of Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z: Burst Limit pits the characters of the popular anime series against each other in an epic quest for dragonballs or limits ... that burst. To be honest, we're don't know. Dudes fight in mid-air and it looks crazy. If you happen to be a fan of the series check out the images and let us know what you think about the look of the game compared to others in the series. Also, anyone who can give us the deets on what a dragonball is exactly* unlocks 10 X3F Army achievement points ... which are completely made up.*You know we're kidding, right?%Gallery-18613%

There are those who love Dragonball Z games and those who despise them. It's generally the same group of people who enjoy or don't enjoy the anime. When you watch this video, though, you might get the feeling there's a pretty cool fighting game beneath the surface -- they've been steadily improving in quality over the years. Goku faces off against Krillin in this gameplay footage and for those who follow the show, the outcome of the battle should be obvious. We'll keep tabs on this game until it hits shelves later this year.

Imagine, if you will, Toy Story meets Robot Chicken meets YouTube ... and you'd have nothing like this video. Still, it's funny and features some pretty well-done impressions and Guitar Hero gaming. Thunderhorse on expert is one bitch of a song, and if the combined likes of Darth Vader, Arnold Schwarzenegger and others can't help you through it, then nothing will.Although a four-armed character like Goro sure would help. While we're at it, we'd also like to be imbued with the power of Steve Vai and have the ability to slow down time. You know, just as an edge.
