Tom Clancy fans eager to get their hands on GRAW 2 will be happy to learn that the game has officially gone gold. TeamXbox reports that Ubisoft made the announcement today, stating that the game should be available on store shelves by Thursday, March 8th (just in time for our heads to asplode from covering GDC). In celebration of this momentous occasion, Ubisoft also revealed the entire list of achievements for the game. Achievements are more or less evenly spread among campaign, co-op, and adversarial modes. The adversarial achievements all require that at least 5 gamertags be in the session, presumably to prevent boosting. So, the game has gone gold and the achievements have been uncovered, but that's not the best part. No, Ubisoft had one more surprise for us. GRAW 2 will feature an in game achievement tracker. The achievement tracker, surprisingly, keeps track of your achievement progress. In other words, if you're wondering how many more sniper kills you have to make to acquire the "100 sniper kills" achievement, all you have to do is pull up the tracker and check. We're going to go on record and say that this feature should be in every game. You listening Microsoft? Now that we've all had a chance to try both campaign and multiplayer demos, what do you think? Is a GRAW 2 purchase inevitable?

The GRAW 2 multiplayer demo that was promised last week is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. Clocking in at around 300 MB, the demo allows up to 16 players on one map called Outpost. It's arguable that this demo is more important than the recently released campaign demo, as players will be spending most of their time in multiplayer. The demo is currently only available to gold members. In a surprise twist, a much larger MLB 2K7 demo is available as well. Go forth, download, and enjoy.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed that there will be a GRAW 2 multiplayer demo available next Monday, which is February 26th for those not keeping score. On the map that is playable, you will be able to participate in both co-op and adversarial matches with up to 15 other gamers. The thing gamers are most curious to find out is what new gameplay mechanics from the single player experience will make the jump over to multiplayer. Which features do you want to make the cut, aside from a cover system? [Thanks, Machiavelli 420]

For two weeks in a row now, we've had demos creeping into the Xbox Live activity charts. This week is no different, bringing a forth into the fold, ironically taking the forth spot. Of course, we're talking about the Def Jam: Icon demo. Gears of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas continue to dominate and hold onto their stranglehold for the top spots. COD3 moved into bronze position, pushing Crackdown to fifth behind the aforementioned new demo. Madden, Lost Planet, NBA Street and Oblivion stay put, and GRAW 2's demo replaces its predecessor in tenth place. Take a gander at our handy dandy list after the break.

  • Rumor: GRAW 2 multiplayer demo coming soon

Over at Hexus Gaming they are reporting that they received some insider information on the status of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2's multiplayer demo. After attending a Ubisoft hosted GRAW 2 event, Hexus Gaming says they confirmed with a Ubisoft representative that the GRAW 2 multiplayer demo will be available on the XBLM this coming week. The idea of a multiplayer demo isn't all that far fetched, but being released this week might be stretching it, knowing Microsoft's certification process. We hope we can get more hands on time with GRAW 2 before we commit to a purchase, because the single player demo just wasn't long enough to get a good enough feel for the game. [Via Xboxic. Major Nelson just posted an Xbox Live Marketplace update about four new gameplay videos for Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2 on Marketplace. The flavors to choose from feature the new sniper rifle, air strike command, squad tactics and gatling gun mounted on the helicopter. They are available in 480p and 720p, and average about 30 MB and 160 MB, respectively. The sniper trailer appears to be the shortest, as its size is 9 MB and 40 MB. In any case, these videos should help shed some light on features you couldn't pick up from the demo.

Fanboys, just a heads up that the official website for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is up and running. At the site you'll have access to all kinds of GRAW 2 media, screenshots, news, and the official forums to troll around. Oh yeah! There are also a few GRAW 2 wallpapers to make your desktop all spiffy n' stuff. As everyone knows, Ubisoft's announcement of the official website is just one more step towards the March release date and we wonder how much hype there is surrounding this sequel. Are you GRAW fans even more excited for the sequel or will you be saving your pennies for this year's other blockbuster titles? [Via TeamXbox]

A Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 preview nabs today's pick off GameTrailers. This video showcases the multiplayer modes and scenarios, including mentioning of one of our favorites, co-op play against the computer. (An Xbox Live demo was released earlier in the week, but alas, it was single-player only.) Is GRAW 2 going to be your new favorite team-based shooter? PS3 fans will have to wait a little bit longer, while Xbox 360 players should get the first chance to evaluate the game in March. Watch the video after the break.

  • GRAW 2 multiplayer: no cover in sight

GameTrailers has posted this lengthy preview of GRAW 2 multiplayer (also available in HD). The preview highlights most of the game's multiplayer features including controllable recon drones. Like many, we watched the video waiting to hear only one thing: is there a cover system in multiplayer? Unfortunately, if there is a cover system in multiplayer, the GameTrailers preview makes no mention of it. This leads us to believe that is has been excised from multiplayer as it was in the original GRAW. There are some notable new features though, including the ability to see through a teammate's eyes using the cross com. All in all, it looks like fun, though Tom Clancy fans are likely to be disappointed by the lack of a cover system.

  • GRAW 2 demo: a little too short, but sweet

We just got finished playing the GRAW 2 demo, and so far we like what we see. The demo is very short, lasting maybe 20 minutes or so depending on how you play. The demo gives you a chance to eliminate a few enemies with a variety of weapons. You'll get some basic assault rifles and a spiffy sniper rifle for some shoot-through-walls action. One of the coolest new features in GRAW 2 is the ability to directly interface with any of your units. This includes your teammates, the recon drone, or the new MULE. The MULE acts as a mobile ammo dump where you can pick up new weapons and supplies. The MULE is also handy in that it's just the right size to provide necessary cover. Directly controlling the recon drone to spot enemies is a nice addition as well. The direct control also makes it easier to issue target commands to your squad. The beginning of the demo has you going solo, but you'll pick up your three teammates near the end. Unfortunately, the demo ends soon after you join up with the rest of your squad, so you won't get to test the team dynamics too much. Still, the demo gives you pretty much what you'd expect from GRAW 2, a nice update to an already good game. Whether or not that's enough for a sequel is up to you. Go give the demo a try and tell us what you think.

It was rumored to hit by the end of January, and the GRAW 2 demo just barely made it. Released today on Xbox Live Marketplace, the demo clocks in at over 600 megs, so you'd best find something to occupy your time while it downloads. We suggest Heavy Weapon. You could also digest all of our previous GRAW 2 coverage. We've started our download and will give your our impressions later today. Anyone manage to snag this massive download already? How is it so far? GRAW-tastic? Oh, and the Fuzion Frenzy 2 demo has been re-released as well, so party fans may want to check it out. [Thanks, everyone]

Frank Black is a rock icon. So when the Pixies frontman teams up with 3volution Productions* to record an exclusive cover of The Stooges' "Gimme Danger" for a new Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 trailer, it's reason to take notice. The song has been paired with nearly 90 seconds of GRAW 2 gameplay footage; a different direction from the one taken in the more stylized Gears of War "Mad World" ad. Still, the Black laced GRAW 2 teaser is worth a gander -- or at least a listen. *3volution Productions, created by Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera, specializes in producing audio tracks for games.

Yesterday, we showed you a video demonstration of GRAW II's single player experience. Today we're going a little more in depth. IGN Australia was given the opportunity to have a gander at Ubisoft's sequel, and put together what they thought were the top improvements over last years installment. Things definitely look promising, and Ubisoft is making sure that we're not just getting a GRAW 1.5 one year later. Details on what's been given a face lift after the break.

The360Forum.com's SubNoize got to go to the G2 Expo in North Carolina. While there, he managed to capture video of GRAW 2. Fortunately for us, he had his camera on a tripod, so we're not subjected to any unwanted shakiness. Weighing in at 127.9 MB in WMV format, the video gives us a good 15 minutes of gameplay footage, with plenty of eye candy and tidbits that Clancy fans are clamoring for. It simply looks gorgeous in motion, screenshots don't do it justice. While the suggested January deadline for the demo dwindles away this week, we're sure Ghost Recon enthusiasts will pardon Ubisoft given how well GRAW 2 is coming along. So, what did you think of the video, and does it sway whether you'd prefer a single or multiplayer demo? [Thanks, SubNoize]

  • GRAW2 delayed for the PS3

For the uninitiated, GRAW2 translates to Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. It's also not coming to the PS3 as soon as we expected. We think. Initially slated for a March release to coincide with the PC and 360 versions, GRAW2 was mysteriously absent from the PS3 listing on Ubisoft's site recently. Ubisoft admitted to 1UP that, yeah, the game's delayed. Not cancelled. Someone said cancelled? Well, they were wrong. No release date for the PS3 version has been officially announced yet, but the 360 is getting a demo very soon. We'd like one too, since we have to wait longer. Ubisoft, the ball's in your court. Oh, and, damn you Tom Clancy! Just had to add that in there. [via Joystiq]

Absent from Ubisoft's latest financial report, detailing the publisher's release lineup through March, is the PlayStation 3 version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The Xbox 360, PC, and PSP versions of GRAW 2 are each listed. Ubisoft has confirmed with 1UP that the PS3 effort has not been canceled, but simply delayed. A tentative release date has not been given. As for the Xbox 360 version, development seems to be right on schedule. Xbox 360 Fanboy reports that a demo will be deployed to Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future (possibly by the end of the month).

Ubisoft sent out emails this morning with a few morsels of information to make us fanboys out there starving for more. They gave word that there will be a demo for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 available on Xbox Live Marketplace in the very near future. No word yet if the demo will be either single player or multiplayer, although in a perfect world it would be both. News0r presupposes that the demo will be available before the end of January, which isn't too much of a stretch, so hopefully we'll be taking headshots on tangos before dying of hunger. So, if you could have only one or the other, what kind of demo would you want, Single or multiplayer?

Our brothers in arms over at Gamertag Radio (also running a cool Bullet Witch contest, by the way) have posted some 'effing amazing shots of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. Seriously, if we hadn't already seen how nice the first GRAW turned out, we wouldn't have bought these screenies for a minute. Just look at the smoke. Look at it! Head on over to GTR and check 'em out. You'll even get a chance to check out the European cover for the game, which isn't nearly as exciting as the actual screen shots. Any GRAW fans chomping at the bit to get this yet?

Ubisoft's sequel looks to be coming along just fine with some rocking explosive effects and nifty camera shots. Check out more screenshots and video (especially video 3 and 4) after the jump. From the looks of things, do you think GRAW 2 is shaping up to be better than the original, being more than a simple rehash of the GRAW? Speak your mind, but please leave your SA-80s at the door.

TVG is reporting that today Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 will be available in North American March 9th. Not only was the release date of GRAW 2 revealed, but also formally Wii exclusive Rayman Raving Rabbids will be coming to the 360 this coming Spring. Ubisoft has a boatload of titles in the works for multiple platforms ranging a wide gamut. Here's hoping that their busy schedule doesn't affect the quality of a nearly finished GRAW 2.
