    11.25.2009

You are cordially invited to party like a Pilgrim tonight with It came from the Blog! Here are the details: When: 11pm EST (8pm PST, 9pm Server time) Wednesday, November 25th Where: Meet at the Ruins of Lordaeron (Undercity) on Zangarmarsh (U.S.) Who: Any Horde character of any level. No mounts required. How: Ask Robinator, Robinella, Robiness or any It came from the Blog Lurker or above for an invite to the guild. What: We will be gaining some Pilgrim's Bounty Achievements: Food Fight!, Sharing is Caring and Pilgrim's Paunch. Robinator will be providing ports to each city (as long as I don't just port myself like I did the other night), so there will be no need for mounts or flightpaths. We may have a few WoW.com bloggers join us for the fun and we also may (no guarantees) give out some loot codes. Regardless, we should have a good time filling up the tables and throwing food at each other while spamming up guildchat with Achievements. If you have any questions about our guild, please see our FAQ. Hope to see you there!

  • It Came from the Blog server outage party

When Emberstorm and Whirlwind battlegroups went down due to a massive power outage and nastiness resulting from it, we invited displaced players to join us in our It came from the Blog guild on Zangarmarsh. And they did. For the most part, it was a guildchat party, but many of us gathered for a picture outside of Silvermoon to commemorate the occasion. I also offered ports to Shattrath so people could set their hearthstones. I'm not used to giving ports, however, so I accidentally ported just myself on one occasion. Oops. Joining us for the party were Adam Holisky, Michael Sacco, Matt Low and Kelly Aarons. We all had a great time hanging out together and getting some cooking done. Just because we had this impromptu get together doesn't mean we're still not going to Party like Pilgrims on Wednesday night, however. Everyone is invited, so come join us at 11pm EST on Zangarmarsh, Wednesday night for some Pilgrim's Bounty fun.

According to my sources, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. is the biggest drinking night of the year. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, that means the roads are more dangerous. So, in the interest of your safety, we are having an It came from the Blog Pilgrim Party that night. Ok, that's not the real reason. We are actually having the party at that time so that we will all still have time to get the Pilgrim title on our It came from the Blog characters before the event ends on Saturday -- if we so choose. Here are the particulars: When: 11pm EST (8pm PST, 9pm Server time) Wednesday, November 25th Where: Meet at the Ruins of Lordaeron (Undercity) on Zangarmarsh (U.S.) Who: Any Horde character of any level. There will probably be some cooking Achievements after the event as well. We will not, under any circumstances, be doing The Turkinator Achievement as that would be counterproductive with a large party. Speaking of inators, I have recently transferred my mage to Zangarmarsh and named her Robinator. She will provide portals for all to make the bouncing from city to city much easier. If you have any of the normal questions, like why Horde (coin toss), see the It came from the Blog FAQ. Please join us! Update: We may even be giving out some loot codes. Possibly. Perhaps. ... I hope.

I am still working on the video, but here is a gallery of stills from the dance party: %Gallery-77152% We'll definitely have a PIlgrim's Bounty event and I'm hoping to fit in a DK Battleground party as well. Stop the presses! Hold your Hawkstriders! It came from the Blog is having a last minute Day of the Dead Dance Party tonight! And everyone is invited: Where: Falconwing Square on Zangarmarsh (US) realm When: Midnight EST (10pm Server time, 9pm PST) Who: Any level Horde character How: Ask Robinella or any It came from the Blog Lurker for an invite to the guild What: We'll be making a video of dancing with Catrina and transforming (so don't do the achievement before the rest of us) as well as completing The Grateful Dead quest. If you have time to log on before the event and make some pocket money, learn cooking and bake some bread, please do. But we'll have extra cash and bread for those who don't. Of course, you'll only be able to complete The Grateful Dead quest outside of Silvermoon if you are a Blood Elf, but we will travel to other graveyards for other races, time permitting. Or you could just make a baby Blood Elf for this event only -- for those of you not dead set against it. (See what I did there?) Most questions about It came from the Blog are answered in our FAQ. If you have others, please ask in the comments. Hope to see you there!

It came from the Blog celebrated Pirates' Day by running from Orgrimmar to Booty Bay as pirates and then joining Dread Captain DeMeza's crew. Granted, there really isn't much to the in-game holiday, but we had a good time making the most of it. Yar! Around 110 or so showed up including Allison Robert, C. Christian Moore and Christian Belt. We got in our pirate costumes, ran to Razor Hill, Crossroads and then on to Ratchet. We then took the boat to Booty Bay and got the Achievement. Thanks to our many higher level characters, the lowbies were protected along the journey.I took a lovely video capturing the 50 or so Tauren Pirates I had on follow only to crash just after getting to Booty Bay. The video is not salvageable, but I may be able to do something with the videos of the beginning and the end... maybe. I was able to get a few screenshots which are in the gallery below. Thanks to all who joined us and stay tuned for the It came from the Blog Brewfest event announcement coming soon!%Gallery-73758%

    07.02.2009

The Eastern Kingdoms were flamed and we had fun doing it. Our It came from the Blog event last Saturday was actually two events: an all levels event followed by a mounted/flightpathed event. Many players took my advice and created Death Knights, giving the lowbies plenty of protection for the run through dangerous territories. Mike Schramm, Allison Robert and Daniel Whitcomb all joined in on the fun.The lowbie event honored all of the flames from Falconwing Square to Hammerfall, with a couple of desecrations on the side. The mounted event took to the flightpaths and completed the Flame Keeper of Eastern Kingdoms achievement. I also got the unofficial achievement for running into every fence along the way. Running + typing = hard.A pictorial journal of our fun is in the gallery below. And I used the wow.com addon to upload my activity for the event. I wish I had used the in-game blog feature to annotate it, but I will next time. If you use the addon to upload your It came from the Blog activity, it will show up in the guild log as well. I'm thinking of trying video for future events. Maybe Turpster can give me some pointers. Allison does a good job with her videos, too. Would you watch It came from the Blog videos? %Gallery-67276%

    06.15.2009

[Guild Recruitment - City] It came from the Blog is now recruiting. We are an ultra casual guild where WoW.com writers join in scheduled events with readers. We have a tabard and even a Guild Bank (though usually empty). PST to Robiness if interested. With the Midsummer Fire Festival coming up, we think it's time to revive the activities of our very own guild: It Came from the Blog. We will be announcing the date and time of our desecrating fires run soon, as well as other events that may or many not coincide with in-game holidays. If you want to join us, make a Horde character on Zangarmarsh U.S. and ask an ICftB member for an invite -- many have the ability. I will also be popping in and out on one of my characters: Robiness, Robinelle, Robinella or Robinara. (Perhaps you see a trend?)Events in the past have been for any level and the Midsummer Fire Festival get-together will be the same, but it is always easier to get around if you are mounted and/or old enough to defend yourself against mobs along the way. Also, there will be some events that are designed for higher levels. If you are interested in joining us, I recommend making a Death Knight on Zangarmarsh and getting it through the initial quests, so that it will be available when we start up again. For more information about It came from the Blog, please read our FAQ.
