UK to get Halo 3 Xbox 360 for 279 GBP
Following the announcement of this week's European Xbox 360 price cut, Microsoft has just announced that the army green colored Halo 3 Xbox 360 will be available in the UK and retail for 279 GBP. The Halo 3 console will be available September 26th (Europe's Halo 3 release date) and will include all the same features / goodies as the Halo 3 console in the US including the spiffy paint job, play and charge pack, 20GB HDD and HDMI input. The console's 279 GBP price tag will be a tad more expensive than this Friday's newly price dropped and comparable Premium 360 which will retail for 249 GBP. So, an extra 30 GBP to upgrade to the Halo 3 Xbox 360 and its adorable gamer pictures or sticking with the cheaper Premium ... decisions, decisions.
Exclusive Halo 3 360 theme & gamer pics spotted
One of the bonuses you get for purchasing the Halo 3 Xbox 360 is a special Halo 3 dashboard theme and set of exclusive gamer pictures to show the world that you're the proud owner of a Halo 3 360. And, of course, nobody has seen these exclusive downloads yet ... until now. Over on Xbox.com the powers that be have already placed previews of all seven exclusive gamer pictures as well as all the blade backgrounds from the Halo 3 Special Edition theme. It could be be accident that they've already uploaded the pictures or they did it on purpose, because they want consumers to know what goods they're getting before ploping down their cash. Halo 3 Xbox 360 pre-orders now available
It hasn't been 48 hours since Microsoft officially announced the pricing for the Halo 3 Xbox 360 and already stores are offering pre-orders for the "limited edition" console. Both Gamestop and EB Games are taking pre-orders for the $399 Halo 3 360 (and its now standard HDMI connection) and are listing September 16th as its tenative release date. Also cool to see is the console's packaging (viewable to the right), which is reminicent of the Halo 3 Zune box art and that whole "emotional" marketing theme they're going after. Maybe we can't all agree on the console's art design, but we should all be able to agree that the packaging is hawt.[Via Engadget]

You see, Xbox.com and the press materials we received specifically state the bundle will include a wired headset (now confirmed). But we heard from E3 and Bungie stated in their Weekly Update that they were going to include the Halo 3 wireless headset instead. So, we aren't sure which it is, wired or wireless, but we'll be sure to pass along any clarification when we get it. Special Halo 3 Xbox 360 console announced
Yesterday, rumors were flying around the internet that a new gray Xbox 360 would be revealed. Well, we were close as a new Xbox 360 was shown, but it wasn't gray. Microsoft just announced that they'll be releasing a special edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 sometime this Fall. This army green Halo 3 360 is accented by yellow highlights (think Halo 3 wireless headset color scheme) and includes a matching green 20GB HDD, wired headset, and wireless controller. The package will also include a play and charge kit and limited edition theme and gamer picture set. But what's most interesting is that the console WILL include an HDMI port on the back. So, it's kind of an Xbox 360 Elite/Premium hybrid where you only get a Premium style 20GB HDD, but you also get Elite style HDMI connectivity with only component cables included.
