We noticed the phone was up on their UK site yesterday, but now that 3GSM has rolled around, HP is letting us all into the hw6900 party with the HP iPAQ hw6940 Mobile Messenger that is now up on their US site. It's still bedecked in all of its previously spied Windows Mobile 5.0, EDGE, 802.11b, GPS, and USB 1.1 glory, but now we get to see it in its natural habitat with a "late Spring 2006" availability to keep it company.[Via phoneArena]

Well, there it is on HP's UK website in all it's little-too-big and battery-sucking glory, the HP iPAQ hw6910 Mobile Messenger. And yes, the specs are the same as before: Windows Mobile 5.0, 416MHz Intel Xscale CPU, 64k color 3.0-inch transflective touchscreen, GPRS / EDGE, 802.11b, Bluetooth 1.2, GPS, 1.3 megapixel camera with LED flash, 64MB RAM, IrDA, MiniSD, and (sigh) USB 1.1. Alright, any time now, HP![Thanks, Chris]

Unless you're willing to pay an awful lot for a gray-market model, you're not about to pick up an O2 XDA Atom smartphone in the US. But that could change if rumors about the HP iPaq hw6800 prove to be correct. According to word on the internets, HP's upcoming model will be a rebadged version of the Atom (which itself is a rebadged HTC product, like just about every hot smartphone these days). Rumored specs are identical to the Atom, including Windows Mobile 5, GSM, EDGE, FM radio, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and WiFi. Due out in April. We're waiting.
