This freak plasma grenade toss by BlackShadowMist earns our nod as the luckiest Halo 3 throw ever. What starts out as a Hail Mary miss turns into a Rube Goldberg-style success. Are you saving amazing clips from the game? Watch the video a few times -- it's short and well worth it -- after the break. [Thanks, Wes]

  • Today's most relaxing trick: Skate 'laid back crash'

Sometimes ragdoll physics can actually prove more natural. Sure, most crashes don't send you floating and flipping effortless through the wind, regardless of the laws of gravity, but those crashes aren't nearly as fun.Take this video, for instance. In reality, this guy would've likely fallen headfirst and spend hours trying to find his brain on the ground -- not because it fell far, but can you imagine how hard it is to find something when you lack cognitive function? Thankfully, we don't have to worry about such philosophical queries; instead, enjoy the video embedded after the break.

Hey kids, do you want to rock and roll with the best of them and show off your video game cred? Well now you can with this shred-tacular new video showing you just how to obtain that much-coveted status. All you need is an electric guitar, memories of Mega Man 3, and deep-rooted knowledge of modal scales. The video is embedded after the break for those who wish to play along and learn from this tutorial -- for everyone else, well, the video is still embedded if you just want to have a look-see.[Thanks, Alex]

If you're reading this at all, you're not playing Halo 3. ScrewAttack sees this as an opportunity instead of a problem, offering its list of the top ten upcoming games to buy that don't include Master Chief. The list includes few surprises, but we like having them all in one place. (Be warned that they swear a couple times, in case you work where that's frowned upon. And you don't have headphones. And you're watching game videos instead of working.)Since it's a video, so you don't even have to concentrate on any more words. Well, no more words but these: see the video after the break.

GameJew sings three short songs about retro Nintendo games in this seven-minute video. Part of his Mushroom Singdom series, we liked the catchy song about Yoshi's Story best. Take a break from that other videogame of the moment with this clip. (We won't even name or link it, Voldemort-style.)See the video after the break. (And also watch his latest from the Mushroom Singdom series.)[Image credit]

  • Today's one-to-one-scale video: Fan-made Halo helmet

We looked for something unrelated to Halo for our video pick, but eventually just learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. This Spike TV GameHead clip shows Halo fan, Devin White's rough process in creating Master Chief armor. (We'd call it cosplay, but that's like calling G.I. Joe a doll.) White casts molds from his clay sculptures to create plastic, glistening armor and helmets. The race is on to hollow-out the Legendary box into a small, pet-wearable helmet. Watch this fan build a human-wearable one from scratch after the break.

We can't figure what's more awkward about this "Halo Nights" music video: the idea of walking in and catching Spartan 117 feeling up your girlfriend with a plasma grenade, or the horrible dancing and singing done for the sake of satire. Either way, it's not a video you're going to want to watch more than once, so be sure to appreciate the actually-impressive Master Chief costume as it blue-screen boogies to the beat of Team Tiger Awesome. Awkwardness abounds after the break.

  • Today's tallest video: Japanese DS puzzler

Tsunde Tsumi Kiss was recently released in Japan and is available through your favorite not-yet-shut-down importer. We're not sure if we'll place an overseas order, but if any of our crack TGS team of reporters finds a cheap copy, we'd happily accept the puzzler.Loosely similar to Egg Mania (look it up, puzzle fans), Tsunde Tsumi Kiss requires gamers to build a tower. Tangram-like shapes are balanced with the DS touch screen. Players win when the tower reaches the designated height, and the rabbit-bird creature hops to the top.See the video after the break.

Horse Life looks like a Nintendogs where you can compete with your animal. (Oh, there was that whole dog agility thing, but we stuck to frisbee games instead. Will a horse chase a frisbee?) We'll leave the sharp critique for the commenters. To our eyes, if you're into horse raising-and-riding games, this looks fun. What do the equestrians in the house say? C'mon, we know you're out there. Or are you waiting in line already for the November DS release?See the trailer after the break.

A new Super Deluxe music video shows a loose parody of "Cat's in the Cradle," covering the life of a gamer dad and his newborn son. The sometimes nonsensical (and mildly NSFW) lyrics amused us as much as the made-up videogames the dad plays. It's longer than our typical video-of-the-moment picks, but entertains through the full five-and-a-half-minute runtime.Oh, and it features Dana Snyder, who voices Master Shake, if you're into that sort of thing. See the video after the break.[Image Credit via BoingBoing]

  • Today's seriously 32-player Wii FPS: Medal of Honor Heroes 2

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for the Wii sounds like a rehash of a long-running franchise. But 32-player online battles will make this shooter unique. Will internet connectivity become a key component for a great Wii FPS? The game ships November 13, marking an overdue trend of Wii games finally getting online.Judging from the trailer, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 looks good (albeit not HD-good). See for yourself after the break.

Little LocoRocos, you're so happy, you make us happy, too. We love watching you bounce and squish. Oh, to tickle a LocoRoco would make us burst with joy. We'd explode with rainbows, of course. (That's a mildly NSFW link, all you weekend laborers.)Sony's PS3 LocoRoco Cocoreccho! "interactive screensaver" um, thing will launch next week in many parts of the world. But the Sixaxis might not let us pet the little creatures. Cocoreccho! isn't quite a game, and we're still not quite sure what it is. But this newest trailer at least annotates some of things players can do, while the earlier video left us guessing.Watch the cuteness after the break, or imagine it on a crisp HDTV with the direct HD feed.

  • Today's most mechanical (poultry) video: Robot Chicken does Legend of Zelda

When all else fails in the world of hottest videos, we can always turn to Seth Green's maniacal "Robot Chicken" series for some skewed take on our beloved video game memories. Today's bastardization of gaming canon comes in the form of Legend of Zelda, following his rescue of Zelda. It didn't quite turn out as planned, but hey, at least he got eight rupees. Our only critique is that Link doesn't hold them high over his head in a dramatic pose.

  • Today's even more traumatic video: Resident Evil Numa REmake

Two days ago, we declared the Trauma Center: New Blood teaser trailer the most traumatic video -- it seemed like a good fit. We are unfortunately going to have to bestow that dubious honor onto a new video ... one legitimately disturbing. Do you send your love by writing their on the wall with T-virus-infected blood? Do Nemesis monsters frequently buy you flowers? If you can stomach the Numa song, you might get a kick out of all the references spanning the entire Resident Evil series. Otherwise, you'll probably be praying for Las Plagas by the end of the reel. Video embedded above; you've been warned.

  • Today's most sacrilegious video: Halo 3 on PS3

    09.12.2007

Although we guarantee it'd move units faster than Covenant troops flee a grenade, the embedded video is not a hint at Master Chief's adventures moving to the PlayStation 3. However, it does feel a bit wrong to see Halo 3 footage shown on its competitor's kiosk right above its "this is living" slogan, reportedly in a Blockbuster. This is wrong. This is pretty funny. This is going to confuse the uninformed gamer who got excited for the game via its Time Magazine story and thinks he can play it on a PS3.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Are you still looking for that special someone? Gametrailers user Brotha has recreated the second Grand Theft Auto IV trailer in GTA III: San Andreas. While we're impressed by the endeavor, the video has actually made us more eager to get our hands on the upcoming violent sandbox sequel by showcasing the visual improvements in the series. We've embedded the original video after the break, if you want to try and synchronize them. (We recommending muting one video, unless you think you're fast enough with the mouse to hit play near-simultaneously.)

Zombies are fast. Zombies are hungry. Just remember that it you don't have to be the fastest person out there -- you just need to be faster than the guy next to you. This direct-feed footage from Left 4 Dead show four survivors (sorry, no footage of someone playing as a super zombie) making their way through a bloodied, abandoned subway system. It looks intense; it should make for an interesting team game when it hits Xbox 360 and PC in early 2008.

  • Today's least surprising video: Boogie on the DS

    09.07.2007

When we first heard about Boogie grooving its way to the DS, the expectations were not particularly high. And as the video above demonstrates, the little portable port meets these expectations quite nicely. Gone from the game is any hint of a karaoke portion (which might be a good thing, given the quality of the DS's tiny mic). Instead, Boogie DS seems to be purely about a series of weaksauce rhythm mini games. Tap the tambourine! Strum the guitar! Step to the beat! It's every great music series mashed up in a mediocre milkshake. Of course, we'll hold off from making any strong assumptions until we can actually play the thing. In the meantime, anyone else care to judge the book by its cover?

Don't worry, it's not what you think. No dragons fornicating, or oddly polygonal women. Just a straight up, Safe-For-Work look at some hot, hot coffee. To get in on the 'Hot Coffee' action yourself, enter the following, case-sensitive code into the cheats menu of Lair: 686F7420636F66666565. If you're lazy, or unwilling to purchase Lair after the glowing reviews, then the video is embedded above for your viewing pleasure. But be careful! It's hot!
