Huawei's MateBook series of laptops seriously impressed last year. The MateBook X and X Pro were surprisingly popular among tech journalists, offering powerful performance, gorgeous displays and comfortable keyboards squeezed into MacBook-like frames. The company is looking to follow that success with the new MateBook 13, by offering similar quality at a slightly cheaper price. The MateBook 13 is a strong, well-rounded laptop, but that lower cost comes with some tradeoffs.

Huawei's MateBook X is one of my favorite laptops ever. It's dainty enough to fit in most of my purses yet powerful enough to muscle through demanding trade shows. But the MateBook X is more than a year old by now, and with a starting price of $1,099, it might be too expensive for a lot of people.
Huawei’s first laptop is a MacBook clone in looks alone
Hot on the heels of Microsoft announcing the Surface Laptop, Huawei is ready to unveil its first real Windows 10 notebook. It's called the MateBook X, and it might remind you of Apple's 12-inch MacBook. In fact, the resemblance is so striking that I could barely tell the two apart without glancing at their logos. Although it looks very similar to Apple's diminutive laptop, the MateBook actually has a few important (and useful) differences.
