  • Resident Evil: Revelations adds Pirate Jill, Sailor Chris, Ninja Keith

The upcoming console/PC iteration of Resident Evil: Revelations will include a trio of confusing new costumes for Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and Keith Lumley, Capcom has announced. As can be seen in the gallery, Jill and Chris both sport equally leggy nautical-themed outfits, while Keith channels his inner One Piece character as a shirtless sword-guy in hammer pants. Costumes are unlocked by playing through the game's Campaign and Raid modes, in addition to "other unlocking mechanisms" that Capcom is keeping a secret. We're just hoping Capcom eventually rides this train of thought all the way to its logical extreme: Pretty Soldier Sailor Claire Redfield.%Gallery-188759%

  • Missing Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC arriving on Vita Feb. 28

One of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3's biggest selling points on the Vita is the fact that all of the console version's DLC carries over; costumes, characters, the whole nine yards. Well, that was the plan, at any rate. So far, the Jill Valentine, Shuma-Gorath and Costume Pack 1 DLC add-ons have been missing on Sony's plucky little handheld. Thankfully, the issue is not permanent and should be resolved during the Vita's next weekly update on Tuesday, February 28. As it turns out, the fact that Jill, Shuma and Costume Pack 1 exist in both Ultimate MvC3 and regular ol' MvC3 threw a monkey wrench into the system, preventing the aforementioned content from making the jump from console to handheld.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 may be out in less than 48 hours, but that doesn't mean you can't cancel your existing pre-order and re-pre-order somewhere else in order to snag one of the exclusive costume packs Capcom detailed on Capcom Unity last Friday. People willing to pre-order from Gamestop will receive the Femme Fatale pack, which provides protective and/or provocative outfits for Morrigan, Chun Li, Storm and X-23. Amazon pre-orders grant the New Age of Heroes pack, which reskins Strider, Sentinel and Doctor Doom in their classic garb, while transforming Akuma into Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter's Cyber Akuma. Best Buy patrons will receive the Villains pack, which includes an Elvis MODOK, as well as less confusing alternates for Wesker, C. Viper and Super Skrull. Capcom also announced two new skins for vanilla MvC3's DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorrath, which will be automatically included with new purchases, as well as made available to those who purchased the characters in MvC3. Jump past the break for galleries of each costume pack, and remember to choose wisely. No pre-order bonus is worth buying multiple copies of a game, no matter how unbuttoned Morrigan's shirt is.

  • Resident Evil Revelations preview: Drained

My first potential action in Resident Evil: Revelations was simple and nostalgic: drain the bath tub? Well it did appear as if something was in the water -- at least that's what the text box before the question had told me. "Eff it!" I thought, caution to the wind. "Let's drain the bastard." And the murky tub full of liquid drained. Lo and behold, I'd found a screwdriver. Just the screwdriver I needed to unscrew a cover, so I could solve a minigame and finally open a door! Is it just me, or does it suddenly feel suspiciously like 1997? My feelings on Resident Evil: Revelations are succinctly summed up in the scenario described above. The Jill Valentine led other 3DS Resident Evil game is a brand new romp through a very old game world: the world of games like Resident Evil 1 and 2. It's a puzzle-riddled, ammo managing, archaic retreat to a land of gameplay mechanics that may be enticing to some old-school RE fans, but sure didn't get my heart pounding.%Gallery-125699%

Capcom Japan has announced that it will postpone the launch of the Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine DLC characters in Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Previously scheduled for March 15, the DLC's new launch date is unknown for the time being. Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine have been priced at 400 MS Points ($5) each. It's unclear whether or not this delay is worldwide -- we've contacted Capcom for clarification. Update: According to the Capcom-Unity blog, players should still expect the DLC tomorrow. We're still waiting for an official statement from Capcom, but it seems US players won't be affected.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will determine the fate of two worlds when it launches in North America on February 15, 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. (It'll come out in Europe on February 18.) Capcom has confirmed the launch date alongside the Special Edition, which Gamestop outed early this morning. The Special Edition contains a steelbook case, a prologue comic, a one-month subscription to Marvel's online comic service and a download voucher, and signals the game's first DLC characters. Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath will become available for purchase and download four weeks after the debut of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but you'll get them for free if you grab the $69.99 Special Edition. Galleries of the MvC3 special edition, along with She-Hulk and Zero (announced yesterday), can be found after the break. %Gallery-107543%

The full list of starting participants in next year's cross-dimensional fight club, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, has yet to be officially confirmed, but we've already learned of two late, downloadable entries: Resident Evil's almost-sandwich, Jill Valentine; and the optometrist's grotesque nightmare, Shuma Gorath. According to a Gamestop listing, both combatants will be available four weeks after the game's launch -- an included download voucher grants free access to Jill and Shuma if you purchase the Special Edition. The Special Edition also includes a steelbook case (embellished with "exclusive artwork"), a one-month subscription to Marvel's online digital comics service, and a prologue comic that will spend 12 pages attempting to explain the head-butting contest between two fictional universes. A pre-order will net you a set of colorful console decal cards that show character descriptions and move-lists. Both Gamestop and Amazon predict that Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds will launch on February 15, 2011. [Thanks, Jack B.]

RE5: Lost in Nightmares teaser goes back to the mansion

Jill Valentine knows what's up: Only the most refined individual understands the elegance of the crank. Chris Redfield and his personal gun show may complain that an entire mansion is being run on the archaic device in this teaser for upcoming Resident Evil 5 DLC episode, Lost in Nightmares, but that's because the dude doesn't respect the crank's noble history. We're just glad one of the two survivalists has enough class to acknowledge the significance of history's great gate opener. %Gallery-78541%

Well, maybe featuring Jill is not quite accurate -- "it's gonna be, uh, at least, somewhat involving Jill Valentine," confirms voice of Jill, Patricia Ja Lee, fresh from recording new voice and perhaps mocap work for Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut. That's right: Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut. It seems that P.J. Lee has also inadvertently announced a new, more twisting, more turning version of RE5 in the works. What else do we know? "It's some good scenes." Catch the full blab after the break.

Following up those recent screens from We Love Golf, IGN has put up a bunch of new trailers for the game. • ReWii confirmed as Umbrella Chronicles

And that's really about all that has been confirmed for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. Here's what we do know, and it's not much: the game is categorized as "action" (you don't say) and Kawada Masachika, who handled the port of Resident Evil 4 from the 'Cube to the PS2, will be the lead producer. The game also appeared briefly in the Wii preview video that we've been cooing over all day. There are a lot of rumors flying around about the game, naturally. Some people think it's at least a partial remake of the remake of the original Resident Evil (that's a lot of remaking). There's word of an established voice actress lending her pipes to Jill Valentine. And some people say it may even -- wait for it -- have some zombies. Now that's news.Speculate your fanboy hearts out and we'll bring you information as it comes. [Thanks to everyone who sent this one in!]
