Classic Star Wars RPG 'KOTOR II' comes to mobile on December 18th
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, better known as KOTOR, is one of the best Star Wars games ever made. Its sequel, KOTOR II, isn't held in quite the same regard, but still boasts an impressive 85-rating on Metacritic. Now, that second instalment -- first released for the Xbox in 2004, but later ported to Windows, MacOS and Linux -- is getting a mobile version.
Worst video game endings of all
Precious video games and your stories, how we do love thee. But when your story ends with us wanting more, we cry how badly. And the good folks at CVG posted what they feel have been the worst video game endings of all time. On the list appear some Xbox titles including Fable, Shenmue 2, KOTOR II, and Halo 2. As a whole, it looks like the one way to avoid angering fans is by not ending the game with a big cliff-hanger. Some fans feel that paying for the game is right enough to be entitled to some conclusion. We aren't that annoyed by cliff-hangers (here's looking at you Halo 2), because our anticipation for the sequel is all the more heightened. Mod community strikes back, restoring KotOR2
LucasArts may or may not be guilty of pressuring Obsidian into wrapping up Knights of the Old Republic 2 before it was ready, but the Star Wars licenser isn't standing in the way of independent efforts to restore the game to its originally intended glory. In another inspiring example of mod communities taking matters into their own hands, Team Gizka (named after the small reptilian creatures in KotOR) has been hard at work restoring much of the "lost content " that is noticeably absent from The Sith Lords. You can check the Restoration Project web site for weekly updates as they near completion of a PC patch that should give fans a more complete KotOR2 experience than the standalone retail edition.
