  • WoW Moviewatch: Walter...about marriage

World of Warcraft, T.V., and some good comedy. What more does a guy need? According to Walter, one of the characters of the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, a new wife. Of course his marriage isn't something that most people experience (at least I hope not, I'm not there yet, but will be someday relatively soon). But no matter what and how bad his personal problems are, they get a few chuckles from me. Legs over at Machinima.com put together today's featured piece with Walter as a small gnome and Jeff Dunham as a bald human with a black beard, all set to the audio track of one of Dunham's bits. The video itself is pretty well produced, however it could use a better audio recording of the shtick. We previously featured legs when she gave another one of Dunham's characters the same treatment: Achmed the Dead Terrorist. This video is pretty safe for work, but that might depend on where you work – it's nothing that you wouldn't hear on Letterman. So you should be safe. One of the things that caught my attention in this most was the hand gestures and movements that Legs has Walter doing. They're very much like what Dunham has him do during his shows. Right down to the shoulder rolls.

(Warning: This movie contains serious violence.)When I wrote about Silent Wind on Tuesday, I mentioned that WoW was lacking in the horror department. I had no idea that Legs was working on the most epic vampire flick I've seen! It's been a little over two months since her last machinima, Silversun, but she hasn't lost her touch at all.Precious Blood is a story of heartache. Love is lost and lives are changed -- some for eternity. You can expect plenty of blood from this film, but it's not distasteful. Legs has a flare for cinematic shots and quality content. More gore, please![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Elizabeth Harper was able to snap a few screenshots of the new Blacksmithing patterns from the game last night. The items all require at least level 75 and are of superior quality. That's good news for those that are looking to craft gear as they level – which can be a viable alternative to fill in certain missing pieces. You can browse through all the latest patterns below in our gallery. For a quick analysis however, take the piece that is featured in the right hand image of this article. They're tank legplates that have 1661 armor, 57 strength, 84 stamina, and 55 defense. No sockets or anything else like that. Let's compare it to the T6 warrior legs, which have 24 agility, 78 stamina, a red socket, 40 def, 41 parry, and 32 block value.%Gallery-28675%

Legs, one of a handful of extremely talented female World of Warcraft machinimators, has been working hard on honing her craft. In the six months that she's been releasing machinima, half of her library of six films have been recommended on Warcraftmovies.com! Her latest, Silversun, is a whimsical adventure told from a child's point of view. Originally created to enter into Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational machinima contest, she discovered too late that they weren't allowing Swiss entries.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Remember when it was cool to dream about pixie dust, ponies, and watermelon? Ah, to be a kid again. Legs is back with Silversun, a music video seen through the eyes of a child.Legs wanted to enter this in the Blizzard WWI contest, only to find out that they didn't allow Swiss entries! While this is a departure from her usual work, she did a great job with the machinima. Hopefully there will be an upcoming contest where she actually participate and showcase her talents![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Khandy is back with the eagerly anticipated sequel to What Else is On! This time around, she's involved some celebrity guests, including Selserene and Legs. Three (real) female machinimators in the same (artistic) movie? Could this be a first? Some of my favorite moments in this film were the behind the scenes look at the sex scene in Selserene's upcoming film, finding out what race Tom Jones would be in WoW, and the background music in the blaxploitation clip! If you enjoyed the Never Stay Tuned series, you'll definitely like WEiO2.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

(Please note that some viewers may find the contents of this machinima offensive.)Legs, of Destination Unknown fame, is back with an interesting take on an old comedy routine. She used material from Jeff Dunham, a world-renowned ventriloquist, to create a puppet act inside World of Warcraft, or to be more accurate, Model Viewer. She did a great job of getting the emotes down! The original act is available on YouTube, where it has been viewed over 43 million times.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Sometimes you have a little extra time, some nice footage, and the desire to make a movie. With no plot to speak of, Legs did just that. Viewers may remember his her previous movie, Black Angel. His Her latest movie, Destination Unknown, involves a pimped out lady singing her song. Along the way, there are dance scenes, strange occurrences, and ... eyes? It's difficult to explain, so you'll just have to watch it yourself! I enjoyed the video, but those that aren't fans of Model Viewer footage may not like it.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

  • Nielsen: PS2 is still the top-played system

    by

While the game press and developers have largely moved on to the latest and greatest, the game players are apparently still stuck in the past to a large extent. Nielsen Media Research's recently released lists of 2007 consumer trends (PDF link) shows that 42.2 percent of console gaming minutes nationwide are spent on the PlayStation 2. In fact, more than twice as many minutes are spent playing the PS2 as are spent on all the current-generation systems combined. It's not just Sony's super-ubiquitous system that's still has legs, either -- the lowly Xbox and GameCube still combine for 21 percent of the country's gameplay minutes.Perhaps this isn't that surprising, given the relatively large installed bases and libraries the older systems enjoy over their current-gen brethren. What's more surprising, though, is the 17.1 percent of console time spent on "other" consoles that pre-date the PS2. What's causing this relative popularity of retro gaming ? Are frat house's still having nightly Goldeneye tournaments? Are speed-running Super Mario Bros. players more prevalent than we thought? Do today's kids enjoy marathon sessions of Parappa the Rapper? Without more detailed data, it's impossible to know, but it sure is fun to guess, isn't it?[Via Gamasutra]PDF - Nielsen's 2007 Top Ten Lists

The DS Life is a new weekly feature in which we scour the known world for narrative images of Nintendo's handheld and handheld gamers.
