Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment and you may see it here tomorrow! Take a look at the links below, and be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites. This weekend I noticed an achievement and a pet I was missing. So I pugged my heart out, and at the end of the run of pugs, I was rewarded with a pug, so I could pug when I PUG. Or something like that. Everyone's got something to say about PUGS: Achtung Panzercow says a little randomness never hurt. The Wayward Initiative has some advice for pugging as DPS, and pugging as a tank, too! Big Bear Butt has some team talk for all players, from a tired tank. And for those pugging with pallies, a flowchart courtesy of I Like Bubbles regarding what to do when you are missing pally buffs.

This week's discussion topic will focus on pointing out the comic that you think has most improved over time. • LFG Expo postponed until next year

In the midst of one of this year's biggest shows, a fledging expo later this month has decided to postpone their own event. The LFG Expo, which promises to be an MMO-focused event for developers and fans alike, has announced that they are postponing their first event. Previously scheduled for later this month, it's now scheduled for... next year. Eventually. The only concrete information is that the organizers are aiming at sometime during 2011, which is quite some distance in the future. Readers may remember that we held a ticket giveaway not so long ago for the expo. As of yet, there's no word from the organizers regarding tickets and attendance. Officially, the schedule was moved to secure better developer support, although it's a rather vague statement. Quite possibly the show's close proximity to E3 worked against its developer attendance, but without more official word, all we can do is wait and see what happens next. With any luck, this is simply a minor setback in the LFG Expo's progress.

It's yet another beautiful Sunday morning, and as usual, there's a long list of comics ready for you to enjoy. Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's trivia! Peanuts was the answer I had in mind, as I was thinking about the advice booth, which many of you picked up on. Tokkar's guess was even better, and Al and foust117 had similar guesses on the tips of their tongues. Rather than focusing on the booth, they focused on the skit itself. A round of ice cold virtual and imaginary lemonade for all! Torment of the Week: The Good Stuff. Byron, the Tauren Rogue! Beyond the Tree: Repeat and Fade. Coffin Comics: Teddy Bear Love. LFG #363 and #364. Teh Gladiators: Fetch, boy! Don't forget to click next for part two. Travels with Tenthunders: On Riparian Fury Deficits. The Warcraft Hero in: Squi's First Lesson. NPC: Alternative Energy. Also: Hamsteritis and Hamster Food. Daily Quests: Grand Master Rancher. AFR: We've All Had Bosses Like That. Slash AFK: The Only Boomkin. Also: Orc? Guilded Age. WoW, eh?: The Final Countdown. Tales from the Crossroads: The Breakup. Check out the latest from Dark Legacy Comics. Complex Actions: Apply Ointment Twice Daily to Affected Areas.

Another week, another list of comics for your enjoyment. I hope you're all enjoying the lovely June weather! I sure am, now that the heat wave has passed. For this week's random trivia question, finish this sentence: This week's Daily Quests comic is a nod to _____? This week's unexpected right-hand photo is a lady on a birdie mount. Seemingly unexciting, right? But something has been queued up - in her mind. I wonder whether it was realized in more, or less, time than it took for the BlizzCon tickets to sell out? And Bink? All you really do need is love. Except when you break the gaming computer during raiding season; then, you owe.

  • Patch 3.3.5: Changes to vote kick incoming

    by
    Alex Ziebart

    06.01.2010

Zarhym hit the forums earlier this evening to announce a change coming to the dungeon finder in the upcoming Patch 3.3.5. For those who behave themselves, the cooldown for starting a vote to kick a player from your party will be removed. For those who kick players out of those parties more frequently, the cooldown will remain. The quote: Zarhym We have found that most players using the Dungeon Finder don't use the Vote Kick feature or abandon groups very often. For these players, we are removing the cooldown on voting to kick players from a dungeon party. In contrast, those players who tend to kick players or abandon groups more frequently will notice that the Vote Kick feature maintains its cooldown. The goal here is to make sure players who are generally patient can make use of the Vote Kick feature when they really need it, without giving a more powerful tool to those who try to kick others or abandon dungeon groups very frequently. This functionality will adjust itself as a player's behavior while using the Dungeon Finder changes. source You might remember that they started tracking this sort of information as of patch 3.3.3. They have been tracking the number of times you kick, the number of times you are kicked, how often you've abandoned a party and a few other things. While this change is a new one, they have been collecting the data for some time. There's a Santa Claus is Coming to Town parody somewhere in here, but I'm not musical enough to pull it off. Help us out?

It's almost June, but where I'm living, it's been feeling like late July. I hope everyone has been out enjoying the weather, especially during this pre-Cataclysm slump. Before you head out today for your picnic, BBQ, walk in the park, or afternoon raid, SMF has quite a sizable list of comics for your enjoyment. We even have two brand-spanking new-to-the-list comics this week, thanks to a couple of tipsters. Don't forget to make suggestions for comic inclusions in the comment section! This week's discussion topic is a free-for-all. Talk about your favorite character, an artist's shading technique, suggest a future discussion topic, or whatever else is on your mind.

  • The Light and How to Swing It: Gearing a new level 80 tankadin, part 2

    by
    Gregg Reece
    Gregg Reece
    05.26.2010

With the Light as his strength, Gregg Reece of The Light and How to Swing It faces down the demons of the Burning Legion, the undead of the Scourge, and soon, an entire flight of black dragons. We're still talking about fresh, up-and-coming tanking paladins who have just hit level 80 and are looking for gear. After taking another look back at it, most of last week was concentrating on items from reputation vendors and craftable items that you could either make for yourself or nab off the auction house. I decided that I could have done a lot more with various tanking drops from dungeons and items from the emblem vendors. So, this week we'll take a look at just about everything a level 80 can nab from a dungeon for tanking, and next week we'll take a look at what you can do with all of those emblems you earned up running dungeons.

This week, in addition to your regularly scheduled comic updates, I'll be adding in links to the few comics that slipped through the cracks while I was in, and just returning from, WiFi hell (and the wonderful Kelly Aarons filled in). This week's list is pleasantly long, but I'm always looking to stretch it. Was something overlooked? Did a comic update late? Do you know of a comic that isn't featured on this list, but is related to WoW? Leave a tip in the comment section! Speaking of the comment section, this week's discussion topic involves pointing out a few of your favorite panels of artwork from any of this week's comics and saying a bit about why you love them. Don't forget to mention your favorite one-liner, too!

  • Sunday Morning Funnies: Ride 'em

This week we have an ocean adventure, a suspicious "murder," a shrewd case of blackmail, and much more. In related news, my WiFi troubles have cleared up! Big thanks to Kelly Aarons for filling in last week. This week's discussion topic, should you choose to accept it, is: Leave a comment about your opinions on artwork in a comic that might get overlooked by many readers. Tell us why you think it's awesome, unique, quirky, or otherwise floats your boat - or your ocean rider 3000, for that matter. This week's topic was inspired by last week's discussion that resulted from some not-so-constructive criticism left by a commenter. Trolls are inevitable, of course, but the incident reminded me that we see a lot of comments about the super popular comics, and less about the rest, even though there are plenty of positive things to say. Onward!

Everyone's nervous the first time. It's a principle that's so, so true for so many endeavors -- and your first WoW instance is no exception. What if your groupmates kick you out of the group? Relax. WoW Rookie's here to nudge you past those first, intimidating moments. Before you know it, that first instance becomes another, and another -- and suddenly, you're popping off an instance or two every evening, in between questing and leveling your craft, and you're loving every moment of it! Welcome to the late-day edition of Sunday Morning Funnies! It's probably breakfast time somewhere, right? This week's list is pretty long, but you can always help make it longer by dropping off tips about new WoW-related comics or ones that I've missed in the comments section. This week's participation challenge: Which comic haven't you seen on the list lately (most likely because it isn't updating) that you really miss and why? My answer: The Scout Report and The Adventures of Disgraph T. Dwarf. Don't forget to list your favorite one-liner from this week's selection of comics!

  • Sunday Morning Funnies: Awkward

    04.18.2010

Fun fact! Six comics on the list this week end their titles with an exclamation mark. Well, five, plus the fact that Byron, the Tauren Rogue, has one inherently. You'll also find a couple of comics that are new to the list, and hopefully this will help dry your tears over your missing favorites. A surprising number of comic artists are too busy this week, but promise to be back soon. Last week, commenters picked out their favorite one-liners from the selection of comics. This week, I challenge you to do it again; but this time, add in what you're doing, or what you usually do, while reading SMF. It'll be like our own personal "state your name and tell us something about you" awkward round-the-table banter! Either that, or it'll strangely remind you of your Twitter feed. A random, confusing, but somehow hilarious phrase coupled with a TMI about your breakfast habits - how could it be wrong? That, or you know, debate the merits of the new sparkle horse. Dealer's choice.

    04.11.2010

There are no newcomers to the list this week, but it does seem to have been overrun with bunnies. There is even an entry that was posted on a certain tricky day earlier in the month, so beware! Don't forget to leave tips about WoW-related webcomics in the comments section, or send an email to the team. As for last week's challenge, several people gave their opinions about the artwork from that week's list. Thanks for participating! This week, drop in a comment describing your favorite line from any comic on today's list. Whether it is funny, awkward, or profound, we want to hear about it.

Happy holiday weekend - and Noblegarden, of course. This week's selection is pretty varied, although there are no newcomers this week. Only you can change this. Send us tips! Also, let everyone know if I missed an updated comic in the comments section. It happens. Thanks to everyone who posted various comic archives last week for the perusal of those who hadn't heard of them. For next week's challenge: What percentage of the comics listed will be about Noblegarden? Guess. Predict the future. Challenge #2: I'll add a second one, since the first one is pretty... well, based in nothing. Whose artwork really struck you this week, and why?

    03.28.2010

This week's list is long and full of new things as well as old favorites. As always, if you have any tips, leave a comment. I'm always on the lookout for WoW-related comics! Don't forget to read through the comments section; this week, there are a couple of comics that haven't updated. Often, the artists will stop by and leave a link if the comic was only a little bit late getting posted. In a related note, Manic Graffiti is back sort of! It isn't on a regular schedule of updates, but every now and then, something will come up. This week's challenge: In the comments section, leave a link or two from your favorite WoW-related artist, or for a comic that perhaps no longer updates; because if other people haven't seen it, it's new to them.
