Panasonic's 150-inch Life Wall TV going production in 2009
Although it's impossible to tell without another object in the display box, that's Panasonic's 150-inch TV up there -- here at IFA, intimidating its neighbors. Now get this: this massive plasma sporting a 2,160 X 4,096-pixel (4 times 1080p) Advanced HD display will hit the assembly lines just as soon as Panny's newest factory comes on-line in the May 2009 timeframe. At the moment, the single 150-inch sheet of glass is hand-made and fitted into four of these behemoths currently touring the world. That means 150-inches of goodness could be yours before the year is up. College shmollege, this is quad HD!

Panasonic's 150-inch plasma display was fairly baffling while still veiled, but if you had to catch a few drops of drool when checking that out, we'd suggest grabbing a handful of napkins now. Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont was able to get up close and personal with Panny's new beast, and it pretty much goes without saying that you can't afford to miss the video waiting after the break.
Panasonic's gigantic 150-inch plasma is official!
Although we got to see some pics of this beast under wraps, there's nothing like seeing it in person. The gigantic HDTV was unveiled at Panasonic's keynote today, with at least one surprise, this sucker is 4k! That's right, it is 4x 1080p, which we're sure looks awesome, but oh my where will the content will come from? Regardless, we have no doubt this thing will look sensational upconverting your 1080p HD movies.
Panasonic's Lifewall plasma: the biggest thing to be announced at CES
So we embarked upon an epic quest in search of the mythical, rumored 150-inch Panasonic plasma -- and what we came across in the still-under-construction Panasonic booth really wasn't at all hard to spot. It was also possibly the most well guarded thing we saw in any of the pre-CES halls, kept under close watch by multiple guards, a half dozen contractors, and obscured by a curtain, a plastic drape, and huge white panels; there was simply no way to get a full-on shot of this behemoth's screen. But we did manage a spy a shot of the rear, and from evidence gathered on site, we discovered what we believe to be the beast's name: Lifewall. Search though we might, we simply could not find any numerical evidence that the Lifewall plasma is the full rumored 150-inches. But let's put it this way. It's the most friggin' enormous screen we've ever laid eyes on -- even sight unseen.Update: We're getting word that this thing may not actually be called the Lifewall -- instead, that term may refer to a wall-like TV system with facial and motion detection, gesture input, and perspective-based UIs. Still, doesn't change the fact that that's a big ass TV.%Gallery-12701%
