How important is Star Citizen's persistent universe? Important enough that Chris Roberts has hired game industry veteran Tony Zurovec to oversee its direction. "The game has become so big that I can't actually direct every single aspect of it every single moment of the day," Roberts explains at the outset of a new 40-minute interview vid posted on Cloud Imperium's official site. Zurovec previously worked with Roberts at Origin and Digital Anvil. He also developed the Crusader series and brings a love of economic and strategic gameplay on a galactic scale to the table. Roberts also mentions Zurovec's work on an unreleased Digital Anvil game called Loose Cannon that was essentially "Privateer on wheels" and a pre-cursor to the sort of open-world sandbox mayhem found in Grand Theft Auto III and its sequels. Konami's Katamari Damacy clone, Zephyr: Rise of the Elementals has just spun itself an easier, more straightforward title: Tornado Outbreak. The game is the first from Loose Cannon Studios, made up of Sucker Punch veterans. While the pedigree of the studio is quite impressive, we found the game rather uninspired at E3, missing the charm that makes Katamari so lovable. Perhaps Tornado Outbreak will blow away our dampened expectations; this trailer reveals new elements (like bosses!) that we didn't have a chance to experience in our previous hands-on.You'll be able to give Tornado Outbreak a whirl when it launches on Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 this September.%Gallery-64671%

A Konami game about weather elements ... Could it be?! No, it's not Kojima's new game. Konami has announced (during Microsoft's keynote, mind you) a new game for Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3: Zephyr: Rise of the Elementals. In it, you'll control a tornado that grows in a Katamari-esque path of destruction. With flying cows (pictured above), we can expect Zephyr won't take itself too seriously. The sandbox environments will range from farms to cities. Two players will be able to team up, each with their own tornadoes. This is the first game to come from Loose Cannon Studios, the new team made up of former Sucker Punch veterans. Expect impressions and an interview with the developers later this week.%Gallery-64671%

Loose Cannon Studios is a new independent development team set up by two Sucker Punch veterans, Dev Madan and Matthew Scott, along with Ricci Rukavina, who previously worked at Universal Interactive Studios and Vivendi. According to the company's website it was founded in 2005 and its employees have worked on such franchises as Sly Cooper, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Jak And Daxter and Uncharted. That's quite a pedigree.Loose Cannon will reveal its first title at E3, which will be based on a new home-grown IP and aim for release on the PS3, 360 and Wii in late summer or early fall. That's really soon, considering they're just now announcing their existence to the world. We're definitely intrigued to see what the company has to show at E3, though the website also promises more announcements in the weeks leading up to the show itself.
