Episode 11 of the WoW Insider Show is now live for your listening pleasure-- Amanda Rivera, Duncor of WoW Radio and I all sat down last Saturday and talked about all things from the last week of WoW Insider, including, but not limited to: All the Shaman protesting that went down (and what we thought of it-- Amanda and Duncor let me rant) The release timing of 2.3 and what's next in terms of content releases Is there or isn't there a first aid quest still in the game? Amanda has strong feelings about Hypothermia and its duration And how much would you pay for a loot card? Plus, we go through more reader mail that I've ever heard on the show (the email address is theshow@wow.com if you'd like to send some of your own), and we berate an absent Turpster for not hitting 60 before 2.3 dropped-- now, he can't brag that he did it before it got easy. And for those of you who have been concerned about the background music, this week we turned it down so low you can barely hear it (I asked Duncor to flip it off, but it sounds like he decided it should still be in there to fill in the blanks). So give it a listen (either over on WoW Radio's site, or in iTunes-- it's not in there yet but it should be soon), and tell us what you think. And as usual, we'll be back on the air again this Saturday. Enjoy the show!

We've heard for a while now about the new TCG loot items coming into the game. Upper Deck today made a formal announcement about the three loot cards available with the March of the Legion set soon to be released. It only makes sense that we talk about these. When you hear about any new battle you're about to fight, your first inclination is to find out what items you'll receive. Let's take a look at our loots, shall we?The first Legion Loot card available with March of the Legion is the Paper Airplane. This is exactly as much fun as it sounds. The code is turned in for the paper airplane manual, an on-use item that creates either paper zeppelins or paper gyrocopters. It's a 50/50 chance which one you'll get. What's the point of these? Why paper airplane fights of course! Throw them at your friends, and best of all, since you can keep several in your bag at once, you can throw a bunch at once and no one will suspect a thing until they see them soaring through the air.

Upper Deck has dropped three nice previews of their upcoming card set for the WoW TCG, entitled March of the Legion, set to hit store shelves in late November. The first preview is a look at how they're finally going to use those damage attributes on each card-- playing certain damage types will help open up new abilities on some card. The second preview looks at staff and dagger weapons for casters, and how UDE is bringing more of the online game abilities into the card game. And finally, the last preview looks at the addition of the Aldor and Scryer factions to the card game, as well as how Demons will enter into play. If you're a TCG player, are a must-read to find out how the new set is going to change the game. And Boubouille at MMO Champion has even more word on the three loot cards that will be released with the set. UD hasn't officially announced what they are (though not for lacking of trying on our part-- WoW Insider is doing our best to get an official announcement on what loot cards will be available), but it looks like, according to code in the game client, that those items we originally thought were more toys for engineers are actually the loot items-- a dragon kite, a robot chicken, and a paper gyrocopter. Bou even discovered a spell for the dragon kite that says "Upper Deck" right there on it, so this is about as sure a confirmation as they come. March of the Legion, and the new loot cards, all drop on November 17th.Update: Well there you go. Upper Deck apparently didn't like the leaks, and went ahead and confirmed all three loot cards. Look for a dragon kite, a paper airplane card, and a robotic homing chicken in a new deck near you.

A couple of different sites around the net are claiming that the recently leaked photos of the rocket chicken, paper toys and the dragon kite are attached to the latest loot cards from the WoW card game. Previous speculation had linked them to the engineering profession, which wasn't a bad guess considering the new schematics that are already being added to that profession in the next patch. Now, Dyrk at the Gutterspeak blog claims to have some new information about the rocket chicken, which will apparently be the second rarest item of the three new cards. He claims that it's a small, non-combat pet that launches itself into the air (or accidentally blows itself up) as its idle animation.

  • Legends of Norrath's upcoming Loot Tournament Weekend

Prepare for cardboard card battle, well digital cardboard that is. The Legends of Norrath Loot Tournament Weekend is scheduled to start at 9 am on October 27th and last the whole weekend. This is a large scale tournament where players can win in-game loot rewards. There will be an entry fee of 10 event passes and each player that participates will receive three Oathbound booster packs, a Lucan D'Lere, Ruthless Tactician promotional card (illustrated by Jim Lee) and a choice of either an EverQuest Scale of Rodcet Nife or EverQuest II Bottled Breath loot card. In order to ninja your free loots just scoot into one of the "Loot Tournament Weekend" event queues and once they fill up the foray will begin and your account is flagged to be banned at a later time. I'm kidding about the banning part, your account is flagged for the goods! You do not have to be an EverQuest or EverQuest II subscriber to play Legends of Norrath. If you can't get enough tournament details check out the Legends of Norrath website. I'm seriously considering entering the Tournament depending on how much the entry fee is. I just downloaded the stand-alone client and it doesn't look bad -- so far, so good, stability wise. I need to get a few games under my belt before I can further comment on the game itself. If it's anything like Magic: The Gathering, I'll probably get hooked and you'll never hear from me again; hey, don't cheer that!
