The fact that has Facebook four distinct Snapchat-like offerings for its main social network, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp can be pretty confusing. Someone in the company must have realized that, because it's making things just a bit less puzzling by merging Facebook Stories and Messenger Day. The fused experience is now simply called "Stories," and any photo, video or slideshow you upload appear both on Facebook itself and the Messenger app.

Facebook has copied Snapchat's Stories feature not just once, twice, or thrice, but four times now its latest app. Messenger Day has launched worldwide today after a limited test. Much like other Facebook versions, you can build a slideshow with decorated videos and photos, and share it with contacts before it disappears after 24 hours. The app takes advantage of the Messenger camera that includes special effects, text, art, stickers and more.

Facebook has been keen on borrowing features from Snapchat as of late and it's testing yet another one in Poland. The so-called "Messenger Day" tool allows Facebook Messenger users to share a collection of photos and videos with friends that will disappear in 24 hours. And yes, they can be decorated with text, scribbles, stickers and more just like you can do with Snapchat Stories. If you'll recall, Facebook reportedly tried to buy Snapchat for $3 billion before getting turned down in 2013.
