Jonathan Tsang, ASUS president of Sales and Marketing, announced a, uh, announcement this morning. On October 16th, they'll announce the prices for their anticipated low-cost, ultra-portable laptop, the Eee PC. He did, however, offer some meat with that small potato: Best Buy and Newegg will carry unspecified configurations by the end of this month with prices not to be below $199. The $199 model? Sorry, it's only available for contract purchases.

In the market for an HDTV? How about making it a Samsung and getting a free PS3 system alongside your new HDTV? While supplies last, popular online retailer Newegg wants to give away a free PS3 system with each purchase of an LCD Samsung 46" 1080p television. The Samsung model seems to be well reviewed by those very same people who purchased the unit, and what better way to watch your Blu-Ray movies than with a brand new "full HD" 1080p television? Don't sit on the fence with this one. You can be guaranteed a deal like this will not last for very long. Free PS3's, people!!![Via digg]

A PS3 price drop?! No, not yet. However, Kmart.com appears to have quite a spectacular deal on a new 60GB PlayStation 3. Using coupon code 004687478018, you'll be able to pick up a PS3 for a full 10% off: only $540, plus shipping. With Virtua Fighter 5 out now, and MotorStorm right around the corner, this may be the push you need to PLAY B3YOND.But, if you're in need of a new "full HD" 1080p, you may be interested in this other deal, courtesy of Newegg.com: buy this 46" Sharp Aquos TV, get a PS3 for free. Not bad, huh?[Via CAG]

  • Burning Crusade $37 shipped at Newegg

If you haven't picked up the Burning Crusade yet, congratulations: you've saved yourself 3 bucks. Techbargains points out that Newegg is now selling the expansion for $36.90 with free 3-day shipping, which is the cheapest we've seen it yet.And if you don't have the new expansion yet, it's pretty clear by now that it's worth it at under $40. Originally, I was thinking that if you haven't got a 60 yet, it might not be necessary, but considering all the great new content that showed up in the starting areas, anyone interested in rolling a new character would definitely get their money's worth.Of course, if you're willing to hunt a little bit, there are even better deals to find. The Collector's Edition, sold out in most places, is still floating around on eBay, some for even cheaper than this Newegg deal. Of course, that brings all the risks associated with normal eBay deals, but no matter how you find it, there's almost no reason not to pick up the expansion and take on the Burning Crusade.

  • Newegg selling "recertified" iPods

When did Newegg start selling "recertified" iPods? At decent (but not great) prices, too. 30GB 5G iPod videos (both black and white models) are just two hundred bucks. At the Apple Store, to contrast, certified refurbished 30GB 5G iPod videos sell for $180, saving you a sawtoothsawbuck and including shipping, 90 days support and a one-year limited warranty. According to the site, "Factory Serviced and Recertified products are items which have been returned to an authorized factory repair facility for testing, inspection, and repair, or which have been repaired by certified technicians. All factory service products carry the applicable manufacturer's warranty and Newegg's 15-day return policy." I'm not sure I totally grok the difference between certified refurbished and recertification, but I suspect they're more or less the same thing. [via Digg]
