Strider, AC4 Freedom Cry added to EU PlayStation Store
Double Helix's surprisingly good action game Strider headlines this week's PlayStation Store update in Europe. With favorable reception behind Killer Instinct and Strider, we imagine Amazon is extra happy with its recent acquisition. Joining Strider this week is Rayman Legends and standalone expansion Assassin's Creed 4: Freedom Cry, both available on PS4. Earth Defense Force 2025 drops on PS3 this week and retro 2D side-scroller Gunslugs makes an appearance on PS Vita. Battlefield 4 Premium subscribers can also grab Second Assault today. Knack and Tearaway have had their prices almost halved this week as part of a February sale promotion, and Lost Planet 3 receives a substantial permanent price drop down to £39.99 (€29.99). European PSN releases for November 9: Elite, Premier Manager and Hydrophobia
European PSN users who are looking to shoot every single one of their friends and relations, and then have documented evidence of the affair: You are the worst murderers ever. However, you're the ideal audience for Call of Duty Elite, which launched today on the Euro PlayStation Store. You can grab the app and sign up for a premium membership through the Store, then fly your K/D spread like a proud, proud flag. European PSN releases for October 19: Rocketbirds, Okabu and The Run demo
What level of adorability are you looking for in your European PSN purchase this week? A significant amount? We suggest Okabu -- it stars things called "cloud whales," which possess a cuteness unrivaled by just about everything else on the planet. Average cuteness? How about Rocketbirds? Sure, the fowl therein are all about soaring through the air and murdering each other, but ... c'mon, birds are cute, right? Want something decidedly un-adorable? Today's update to the European PlayStation Store seems to be stuck in the past. There's a Fat Princess DLC bundle, the digital releases of Modnation Racers and Dragon Age: Origins, and the fifth installment of the Back to the Future adventure game series. We haven't played it yet, but based on the history of the franchise, there's probably a pretty good chance of getting literally stuck in the past. Never before has a European PSN update been so violent. Section 8: Prejudice tasks you with killing heavily armored skydivers. Dead Block is all about re-killing the walking dead with a series of homebrewed traps. Finally, 3D Ultra Mini Golf Adventures just wants you to kill pars with really, really good putts. Kind of. We're going to be straight with you guys: It's not the best week for European PSN releases. There's a trial version of Dead Nation and a demo for PixelJunk Shooter 2, while the poor PSP only gets a handful of Minis. The real highlight of the week is the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII costumes for LittleBigPlanet 2, which should provide you with adequate hours of enjoyment to last you until next week. The European PSN is still playing catch-up after its lengthy hiatus, bringing us an eclectic mix of new content this week. So, there's not a ton of new stuff for the PS3 this week -- other than the PSN debut of Fancy Pants Adventures, of course -- though PSP owners are in for a sweet pair of treats: Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection and Patapon 3.
