Blizzard Community Manager Rygarius has posted the patch 5.4.7 official notes on battle.net. This is in anticipation of the patch's arrival on February 18, as Blizzard Customer Support tweeted on Monday. The key points are summed up in our patch 5.4.7 roundup post, and Timeless Isle weapons are being upgraded, but other than that it's really mostly PvP related news with a new season arriving and the changes to Alterac Valley and Dampening. The Krasarang rares have also had a nerf, now dropping honor just once per day. What's more, the PvP vendor guards have had a buff to their health and damage dealt. There are also several class changes, which are laid out in full after the break in the Official Patch Notes.

Patch 5.4.7 is upon us, barring catastrophe we are expecting its arrival tomorrow, February 18. But what's actually coming with the patch? Is it really just a PvP season? Well, not quite. The key changes in patch 5.4.7 are as follows: PvP season 14 ends, PvP season 15 begins Honor gear item level is increased to 522, Conquest gear item level is increased to 550. The new gear drops from the Celestials, too. The Krasarang rares now only drop honor once per day. Timeless Isle weapons are all automatically upgraded to ilvl 489 including ones you already own There are terrain changes and NPC changes in Alterac Valley Dampening will start at 5 minutes in 2v2 arenas only There are a few class changes, notably to warrior interrupts and druids' Heart of the Wild. We're also tentatively expecting to see the pre-orders for Warlords of Draenor sometime after the patch's release, and the much-discussed buy-a-90 feature, although this has not been officially confirmed by Blizzard. Boosted level 90s will get 483 gear, and if you're boosting a level 60+ character they'll also get maxed professions. What does this all mean if you're not really into your PvP? Why should you care about the patch? Well, if you're a PvE-er leveling a brand new level 90 character, or maybe boosting one, the best way to gear it straight to 522 is now to grind out honor gear. But don't worry, the best way to do that is still via PvE. Same applies if you've still got slots below that ilvl.

Blizzard Community Manager Rygarius has cooked up the latest batch of Patch 5.4.7 PTR notes. There's a few changes in there, including the reversion of the change to Charge and the cooldown changes for Pummel and Disrupting Shout that replace it. We covered this in more detail with a post from Lore, so let's take a look at the other alterations: PvP gear has been updated to the relevant season, so the season 14 Grievous gear is now purchaseable for honor, while the season 15 Prideful gear is live The Flaskataurs return! Both shrines now feature a Flaskataur for all your needs. Flaskataurs sell PvP gear in the shrine Tier 15 Normal gear at Niuzao Glyphs in the Shrine Charge's stun is now a stun again rather than a root Warbringer's root is, again, a root Disrupting Shout and Pummel now both share a 15-second cooldown when either ability is used. Disrupting Shout's 40-second cooldown remains unchanged but the ability will be unavailable for 15 seconds after using Pummel. Hit the break for the full patch notes!

There have been just a few changes to the Patch 5.4.7 PTR Patch notes. You can see the full, updated version after the break, but let's spell out the changes for you here. First, in all PvP, the increase in Battle Fatigue -- the debuff that affects healing done to players -- has been dropped from 10% to 5%. Instead of going from 55% to 65%, Battle Fatigue will now be at 60%. Next up, in the Arena, there have been a couple of shifts from the previous version. Dampening will start at 5 minutes for 2v2 arenas only. For 3v3 and 5v5, Dampening will remain at 10 minutes. Finally, in Alterac Valley, the increases in health have been applied to all Marshals, on the Alliance side, and to all Warmasters on the Horde side. Hit the break for the full, unadulterated notes.

Patch notes have now been released for the patch 5.4.7 PTR and posted to the official blog. It's a small list so far, and this doesn't appear to be a major content patch in any way. However, most of the changes listed so far all involve various aspects of PvP. Keep in mind that there is no mention being made of the mount or pet that were datamined yesterday, nor the level 90 boost feature -- from what we know so far, those are all features being introduced with Warlords of Draenor pre-orders. Many of the items being sold by Misterweaver Ai on the Timeless Isle have had their item level cap raised to 489, up from 476. This change is retroactive to any of these items that have already been purchased -- no worries! In arenas, Dampening is now being applied at the 5-minute mark instead of the 10-minute mark. In Alterac Valley, Stormpike, Balinda, Galvangar and Drek'thar are all now immune to disarm, daze, and Death Grip. Read on for the full list of patch notes.

The patch notes for the 5.4.2 PTR have been updated with new information for the next patch. This round of additions are mainly bug fixes and tweaks for classes, items and quests. Also included are some adjustments for the Siege of Orgrimmar raid that address a few bugs as well. In the Galakras encounter, a situation that caused demolition NPCs to stop opening the door to the towers has been resolved. An issue causing players not to receive credit towards the Drop It! and Drop It Now! achievements has been resolved. Crashin' Thrashin' Flyers and MiniZeps should now be able to damage each other while in sanctuary areas. 08.08.2013

A new round of patch notes have hit for the patch 5.4 PTR. This time around, there seem to be very few class changes, but plenty of updates for professions. In addition to the numerous profession updates and tweaks is one update to Wrathion's legendary quest chain that ought to make those working to catch up very, very happy. The first eight bosses in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid all have a chance to drop a Sigil of Power, Sigil of Wisdom, Secrets of the Empire, or Titan Runestone. This is in addition to their normal loot table, and the items will drop according to what step of Wrathion's quest you happen to be completing. Items that were formerly obtainable with Valor Points that have been changed to cost Justice Points, as well as gear from new PvP recipes or plans will now disenchant into Sha Crystal Fragments. Multiple Fragments can be combined into a Sha Crystal. Fishing fanatics, don't worry -- the Jewel Danio formerly swimming happily in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms have now been relocated to the Timeless Isle. You can see the full list of patch notes at the official site, but if you'd just like a list of the new changes, follow after the break for a consolidated list.

Another round of patch note changes been released for the patch 5.4 PTR. Vengeance has once again received several changes that tanks should probably look over, as well as the usual round of minor class updates. More importantly, two changes have been made to current content that ought to be interesting for players looking to get caught up to the latest raid. Vengeance now has diminishing returns while tanking multiple targets -- each additional target grants progressively less Vengeance. All enemies in the Throne of Thunder now have a debuff called Shado-Pan Onslaught, which reduces their health and damage by 20%. Heroic Scenarios no longer have a minimum ilvl requirement to enter. Another round of patch notes updates have been released for the patch 5.4 PTR. Two major items of note are included with the latest list: First, many classes have had new glyphs added, or current glyphs redesigned. It's glyphmas come early! Second, the Timeless Isle is now open for testing on the PTR server, teeming with all kinds of interesting new stuff to check out. Players looking for the Timeless Isle on the PTR should check their mailbox -- a Curious Ticking Parcel has been delivered to you. Druids, you have a new minor glyph, Glyph of One With Nature, that will grant you the ability to teleport to a random natural location -- among many other glyphs and glyph updates. Rogues, Evasion now increases dodge chance by 100% instead of 50%. Shaman, you have a whole ton of new glyphs, both major and minor. How about summoning a Rain of Frogs? Yes, you heard that correctly. You can see the full list of patch notes at the official site, but if you'd just like a list of the new changes, follow after the break for a consolidated list.

A new set of updates to the patch 5.4 PTR patch notes has been posted on the official blog. Along with the usual class tweaks and adjustments, this time around we've got some changes to Pet Battles -- and an interesting change for both druids and death knights. Druids and Death Knights using spells that take them to training areas (Moonglade and the Ebon Hold) will now find that casting Teleport: Moonglade or Death Gate will return them to a location near their original departure point. Hunters -- Readiness has been removed, and Disengage and Deterrence both now have two charges. Battle Pet training cost and the price of pets sold by Battle Pet Trainers have both been greatly reduced! An update list of patch notes for the 5.4 PTR has just been released on the official blog. The notes include a mega list of changes for various classes, as well as tweaks and additions to battlegrounds, pet battles and more. Every taunt ability now increases all threat generated against the target by 200% while the taunt is active. Those who participate in PvP Pet Battles should happily note that round timers will get progressively shorter for a player who takes more than 15 seconds to issue a command during their turn. Any battle pet that could be rewarded from a Throne of Thunder boss in LFR will now be able to be won from a bonus roll as well. The official patch notes for the 5.4 PTR have been posted on the official website. While the PTR is not available at this time, you can check over some of the changes, new additions, and updates. Keep in mind that the PTR patch notes are not a final version, they will likely change between now and when the patch itself goes live. In addition, not all content may be available for testing immediately. However, there are some pretty amazing things to be found so far! Flex raiding, which we've already been introduced to. Proving Grounds will finally be making its debut in patch 5.4 New Feature: Virtual Realms. Virtual realms are sets of realms that have been fused together and will behave exactly as if they were one cohesive realm. Say what? You heard me! Read on for the full PTR patch notes.

    02.26.2013

As we draw closer to the release of patch 5.2, changes continue to be made. Another round of patch notes have just hit the 5.2 PTR. This time around, the list of changes to classes and quests is relatively small. However, there are a ton of updates for professions of all kinds -- and one interesting change to AoE spells and abilities. The area damage cap is now 20 targets instead of 10. Players that have a high fishing skill now have a chance to fish up new pets! The Pet Journal has clues on where these new pets can be found. Happy hunting -- er, fishing! New raid and PvP patterns have been added for tailors. Tailors can find these new patters with the daily Imperial Silk cooldown. Players can now participate in Pet Battle duels while in the Throne of Thunder, just in case you'd rather take a break from certain troll doom and instead focus on fluffy critters. You can see the full list of patch notes at the official site, but if you'd just like a list of the new changes, follow after the break for a consolidated list.

    02.20.2013

Blizzard has posted another updated set of patch notes for the 5.2 PTR. This time around, the list of updates is relatively small, but there are still plenty of interesting tidbits to be found. Included are class changes for a few different classes, as well as some updates and additions to the list of features that will be available in patch 5.2. Satchels obtained via the Raid Finder now have a chance to contain additional fun items. This includes Raid Finder versions of Normal and Heroic difficulty zone drops that were previously unobtainable from LFR difficulty. Players of the same faction will get shared credit for Pandaria world bosses -- this includes Sha of Anger and Galleon, as well as the new world bosses in 5.2. Buying the farm has officially been changed to reflect that you will be taking over the farm rather than purchasing it. Players must be exalted with the Tillers and have unlocked all 16 farm plots before this option will be made available. You can see the full list of patch notes at the official site, but we've made life a little easier and just compiled a list of all of the changes after the break.

    01.30.2013

Blizzard just posted an updated set of patch notes for the 5.2 PTR. Included in the latest round of updates are the continuation of Wrathion's legendary quest chain, some class changes, a whole mess of Pet Battle changes, and a few interesting tweaks to LFR that might just make that issue of players dropping groups a little less likely to occur. To encourage LFR groups to stick around, each time a Raid Finder group wipes on a boss fight, all players will get a stacking buff that increases health, damage, and healing done by 5%. This stacks up to 10 times. Lorewalker Cho has two new tales to tell -- Dagger in the Dark, and A Little Patience. As of 5.2, both factions will be able to complete both scenarios. No more faction limit! Characters that have attained titles from the Rated Battleground system (Centurion, Knight-Champion, High Warlord, Grand Marshal, etc) will now be able to purchase old PvP items requiring those titles. You can see the full list of patch notes at the official site, but we've made life a little easier and just compiled a list of all of the changes after the break.

Blizzard updated the official 5.2 patch notes a few hours ago. Some of the updates are consolidated changes from the last few PTR builds, but many of them are new. You can see the full update at the official WoW community site, but we've compiled all the changes. Check out some of the highlights below. The continuation of the Wrathion questline will unlock a new legendary metagem, Crown of the Heavens. Three new spectral porcupine spirit beasts have appeared across Pandaria as tameable beasts. There is now an option to show absorb effects (such as Power Word: Shield) on player, target, party and raid frames. This feature is currently enabled if you turn on the predictive healing option. Unlike predictive healing, absorb effects will display for enemy targets. The Reputation panel on the character screen will now let players know which reputations they have purchased and used Grand Commendations for.

    12.22.2012

A preview of the notes for the patch 5.2 PTR has just been released on the official blog. While the PTR may not be open until January, Blizzard certainly isn't wasting any time with getting the information out there and readily available to players. The trend of speedy patches in Mists of Pandaria seems to be continuing as hoped, which should make players very happy, and far less apt to run out of content to do. Highlights from the patch include: The new raid, Throne of Thunder, which includes 12 new raid encounters and an additional 13th foe unlocked upon defeating Emperor Lei Shen in Heroic mode. New daily quest hub: The Isle of the Thunder King -- the Kirin-Tor Offensive and the Sunreaver Onslaught face off to lay claim to Emperor Lei Shen's island stronghold and the treasures contained therein. Two new world bosses, Nalak the Storm Lord and Oondasta An option to purchase Sunsong Ranch to make it a resting point like an inn. Work orders will come in from various factions, and completing the work orders will grant you reputation with the issuing faction. All world bosses are now Tap to Faction. This new system offers every eligible player of the same faction that engages a boss the chance to earn loot. Read on for the full list of patch notes for Patch 5.2.

  • Crowd Control announced on your screen in patch 5.1

    10.12.2012

In one of my earlier PvP addon posts here at WoW Insider, I talked about a fantastic addon, which was, and still is, called LoseControl. What LoseControl did was to bring up an icon in the middle of your screen whenever you lost control of your character, that indicated precisely how you had lost control, by displaying a spell icon, and for how long. This could also be modified by OmniCC to add a duration if you preferred that to the pie-chart method of measuring time, as can be seen in the header image. I always think that the mark of a really good addon is when Blizzard incorporates it into the game, and it looks like this is exactly what's happening with LoseControl. The Blizzard blog with the official 5.1 PTR patch notes had this to say: Blizzard A new banner will appear when a player is subjected to an effect that causes them to lose control of their character. The effect that caused the loss of control and remaining duration will be displayed. Configuration options are available in the "Combat" section of the "Interface Options" menu. source Additionally, new strings have been datamined that indicate that these banners will show the type of CC a player is subject to, as well as the effect itself, so, for example, Psychic Scream is a fear effect, and can be removed with Will of the Forsaken or a Tremor Totem, whereas Mortal Coil is a horror and cannot.

    10.11.2012

Well that didn't take long... the patch notes for the patch 5.1 PTR have been released today. There is no information as to when the patch will release. Some highlights from the patch notes: The conflict between the Horde and the Alliance has ignited a new series of daily quests along the shore of the Krasarang Wilds. Players can visit their faction strongholds in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms to begin the quest to summon their war fleets to the continent of Pandaria. (Please note: The Alliance version of this quest is not yet complete, but will still unlock the new missions and features). Two new Reputations have been added: Alliance players can earn reputation with Operation: Shieldwall, while Horde players will curry favor with the Dominance Offensive. Players can slay rival NPCs and opposing faction players along the shore to earn commissions that can be spent to upgrade their faction's base. Look for strategic objectives to capture, including graveyards and towers. Commissions can be spent to recruit guards that will help protect this captured territory! A new item has been introduced that can be used to upgrade the quality of Battle Pets: Battle-stones. Underground fighting rings have sprung up in Stormwind and Orgrimmar that will give brawlers a chance to earn bragging rights by testing their solo PvE mettle against some of the toughest creatures found in World of Warcraft. The full patch notes after the break.
