Trion shutting down RIFT in Korea
It's been nearly a year since Trion took RIFT overseas, and now it appears that the fantasy title's foray into the Korean market is over. Despite a significant free-to-play conversion last winter, the game will close its doors on April 25th. MMO Culture reports that despite positive word-of-mouth in the Korean gaming press, RIFT couldn't overcome stiff competition from Blade & Soul and Diablo III. The site also says that refunds will be processed beginning on April 17th while the game's cash shop will cease operations on March 28th. [Thanks Dengar!]
