  • Capcom Digital Collection arrives on March 27 in US, March 30 in Europe

The Capcom Digital Collection gathers eight of Capcom's most recent XBLA offerings into a $40 package: 1942: Joint Strike, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (curiously, not the first game), the two-game Final Fight: Double Impact title, Flock!, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil with "It Came from Uranus" DLC, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.Downloading each title a la carte will cost $100 total and a good chunk of your HDD space -- but more patient, frugal fans of The House that Hadoukens Built can spin a disc and try these previously download-only XBLA titles on March 27. Across the pond, gamers will have to wait until March 30 before they can put on some pants and head on over to the local shoppe to snag a copy. That is how you guys spell "shoppe" over there, right?

  • It Came From Uranus, alright (new media)

So ... you want more Rocketmen media? Capcom's not giving up on the poorly-reviewed PSN downloadable. It's offering an expansion next week ... and unfortunately, you'll have to pay for it. For some bizarre reason, some of you really enjoyed Rocketmen. We enjoyed watching this trailer of the It Came From Uranus expansion more than actually playing the game. Maybe because this video actually had more production values (like music) than the original game.%Gallery-22524%

Capcom recently announced that Xbox Live Arcade game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be getting an expansion on Wednesday, May 14th, even though nobody really asked for it.The Rocketmen "It Came From Uranus" expansion pack (whose name coincidentally makes twelve year olds roll on the floor with uncontrollable laughter) will add three new weapons (Blobber, Beamer and Bomber), two new secondary weapons (Falcon and Screw Bomb) and three new levels. The worst part is that this expansion will cost you 400 Microsoft points on top of the 800 points which are required to spend on Axis of Evil. An amount that we doubt most XBLA fanboys would be willing to spend.

We'd be surprised if any of you reading this enjoyed Rocketmen: Axis of Evil long enough to suffer through all ten levels, but if you did then you might like to know that the game is getting an expansion pack. That's right, more camera issues, bad animation and boring gameplay are heading your way. And you have to pay for it. Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus (yes, very clever) will be available from the American PSN Store on May 15th and will cost you $4.95. In exchange for that you receive three new levels of gameplay (if you can call it that) and five new weapons; three primary and two secondary. You must have Rocketmen: Axis of Evil in order to play It Came From Uranus and can play the new levels with your old character. As you can probably tell, we're not particularly fond of Rocketmen. You can find out why in our review.[via Press Release]

  • PS3 Fanboy review: Rocketmen: Axis of Evil

At one point in Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, the main character sighs, shaking his head, wondering "why do I have to do this?" At that one moment, I drop my controller -- it was then that I felt like the game had starting talking to me. Yes, you're right, game! Why do I have to play you? Why must I struggle through level after level of insipid, uninspired game design? How long will it take for me to finish you, so I can write a review and inform our PS3 Fanboy readers to avoid this at all costs?Paying $10 for a game like Rocketmen is an insult. You're essentially paying for a student project -- however, college professors get paid thousands of dollars to play and critique such amateur work. This is no joke: but at one point, I actually fell asleep while playing the game. There are a number of things Rocketmen does wrong -- impressive, considering how simple the genre of the dual-analog shooter is.%Gallery-17253%

The new video version of XBLA in Brief is back this week, taking a look at Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. Despite having one of the more unique names on Xbox Live Arcade, Rocketmen turns out to be yet another omni-directional shooter. You know, move with the left stick, shoot with the right stick. Rinse, repeat. It does throw a few extra bits into the mix, namely an RPG upgrade system that lets you level up your character and weapons. It's not bad, but it's definitely not great. Also, it's worth noting that the "ending" of trial version could use some work. Worth 800 points? Based solely on the trial version, we say no. Just like XBLA, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil is the only new game offering on PSN this week. Sure, there's the Rock Band and GHIII DLC, but its a pretty tame week overall. Now, for those with access to the Japanese PSN it's a different story. Those people should go grab echochrome immediately and twist their brains, Escher-style. Check out the complete list of this week's content after the break. Wondering what the Europeans got? Take a little trip down the yellow brick road to PS3 Fanboy. %Gallery-2571%

We finally made it to this week's hump day and as with every hump day before it, we are greeted with a brand new Xbox Live Arcade release. And this week we're being treated to A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games' Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, which is available today on the XBLA for a cool 800 Microsoft points. Early reviews are mixed to whether or not Rocketmen is "good times" or "bad times", but we're confident in your abilities to garner your own opinion. Download the trial or make the purchase, just don't blame us if Rocketmen ends up being a dud.%Gallery-17250%

We knew that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil was arriving on Xbox Live Arcade this week, but we've just found out from Microsoft that it's the only game hitting the service this week. So it's Rocketmen or nothing, mister, and you're just going to have to deal with that.If you're unfamiliar, Capcom's Rocketmen appears to be sort of like Smash TV with some RPG elements mixed in. We'll find out on Wednesday how accurate of an assessment that is.%Gallery-2571%

We just received official word from Microsoft that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, March 5th for 800 Microsoft points. And yes, we know we pretty much confirmed this week's release last week when Capcom sent us an early word. But we figured we'd remind you and because we have new Rocketmen screenshots as well. New screenshots showing off some of the gameplay, cel-shaded cut scenes and (gasp) the character selection screen. Oh, and guess what? They're in the gallery below. Surprise!%Gallery-17250%

Capcom just announced that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be hitting the PS Store on Thursday next week. The game won't cost you an arm or a leg, but it will set you back $10 in "human money."The game, for those who don't know, is an arcade shooter based off Wizkids' constructible strategy game. Though this Rocketman game stays far away from the meticulous micromanagement of strategy games, it instead trades its old duds for straight up shooting. The game supports up to four player co-op both on and offline, and features customizable characters. Check out the beautiful cel-shaded graphics in the gallery below:%Gallery-17253%

Eight-directional arcade shoot-em-up Rocketmen: Axis of Evil is coming next week to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. In addition to customizable characters and four-player co-op (online and offline), the game will support 1080i visuals, according to a press release.Rocketmen was originally unveiled in April alongside Talisman. The game will come out next Wednesday (Xbox 360) and Thursday (PS3) for 800 MS points / $10. (Important note: We were debating between the current headline and "Rocketmen explode onto XBLA, PSN." In the end, both were deemed equally pun-ful/painful and a coin was tossed.)[Via Press Release]%Gallery-2571%

Capcom and A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games just sent word that their, announced way back in April '07, XBLA game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be gently landing on the XBLA next Wednesday, March 5th. Capcom also included a few new screenshots (galleried below) and from what we can tell, we're in for some cel-shaded arcade shooter shenanigans. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will set you back 800 Microsoft points and supports four player co-op locally and over Xbox Live as well as fully customizable character creation. At Capcom Gamer's Day, Capcom revealed three new downloadable titles for the PlayStation Network. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of the classic 16-bit fighting game. The entire game is being redrawn, from the character select, all the way through to backgrounds and endings, most likely to take advantage of your shiny HDTV.Rocketmen: Axis of Evil is a intensely action-oriented approach on the constructible strategy game of the same name. Like Cash Guns Chaos, the game will have players blasting enemies in a colorful, cel-shaded world. For images of the game, check out the gallery at Joystiq.Talisman is based off yet another strategy game, but unlike Rocketmen, it'll stay true to its original gameplay. This downloadable title will be a digital recreation of the game, and will be playable offline and on.Finally, Puzzle Fighter II HD will also be making an appearance on the Network. This lovable puzzle game will also get a glorious high-definition makeover. See a video of the game, after the cut.

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/gaming_news/Capcom_brings_Rocketmen_and_Talisman_to_XBLA_and_PSN'; Though it seemed like Capcom was giving Xbox Live Arcade all the love at their annual Gamers Day event, they did have two surprises up their sleeves for fans of the PlayStation Network. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil and and Talisman both represent very opposite ends of the gaming spectrum and while we got to go hands-on with the former, the latter was not presently available. Based off the constructible strategy game of the same name, Rocketmen ditches the thinking and settles for some good ol' eight-way shooting. Like a friendly version of the classic Total Carnage, Rocketmen is deeper than your average Robotron-clone by offering up customizable characters, four player co-operative play and online modes to match. While what we saw was fairly early, the cel-shaded environments are looking fairly slick and the action can get nuts, as you can see in the screenshots below. Capcom currently has it penciled for a Fall release for both XBLA and PSN, though don't hold your breath for cross-connectivity.Talisman is based off a different strategy game, only in this case it'll be sticking to its Games Workshop roots. Revolving around a 3-D representation of the board, Talisman is a translation of the tabletop game that sports one to four players on or offline, 25 characters from the franchise and expansion through downloadable content in the future. It will be seeing a release this winter for XBLA, PSN and PC as well.%Gallery-2571%
