    Audi’s Silvercar rental service adds a customer loyalty program

    Audi's premium rental service, Silvercar, just launched a customer loyalty program. All Silvercar customers will be automatically enrolled in the Premium Rewards Program. They'll earn one point for every dollar spent -- excluding those spent on taxes, insurance coverage, extras and fees -- and be able to use points on future rentals.

    'Always Audi' program gives new customers free Silvercar rental days

    Audi is giving customers who buy its newer vehicles seven free days of Silvercar rental under a new program called "Always Audi." While people probably aren't going to buy one of the automaker's vehicles just to get a week's worth of complimentary rental days, it's a nice perk to tack onto a purchase. To be eligible for the free days, customers must buy or lease model 2019 vehicles or newer.

    Audi's premium Silvercar rental service has just become more convenient for customers in select downtown areas in New York City and San Francisco. It will now deliver and pick up rentals at customers' homes or a location of their choosing for an additional fee, so long as it's located somewhere in Manhattan at 42nd Street (NYC), Columbus Circle (NYC), Downtown Brooklyn (NYC), Williamsburg Brooklyn (NYC) and Union Square (SF).

    Audi adds Q7 SUV to its Silvercar on-demand rental service

    Audi is hoping to attract families and groups of travelers to its Silvercar service, through which you can reserve and unlock cars with your phone, by adding its Q7 to the fleet. You can now reserve the SUV in Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix and Salt Lake City for rentals starting February 15th. Audi says it will make the Q7 available at its other Silvercar locations from June.

    Audi's future-proofing plans include more ride sharing

    Joining the likes of Maven and Sidecar from General Motors and Chariot from Ford, the Volkswagen group is eyeing a ride-sharing service of its own. Audi (part of the VW group) has announced that it intends to purchase the Austin-based Silvercar which uses Audi A4 sedans to get people around. Previously VW was pondering the market with a $300 million investment in high-end ride-share service Gett. As TechCrunch reports, Audi already had a minor stake in the company and according to a press release the two have been working together since 2012 .
