So we know most you are really bummed out about Final Fantasy XIII for some odd reason. We say there's nothing to be that bummed out about at all. Besides, it's time to suck it up, accept it, and get over it. The best way to 'get over it' is to get back to looking at all the game's that are still exclusive to our platform of choice, specifically: Resistance 2 and inFAMOUS. That's right, based on these new E3 trailers, there's still enough sweet exclusivity to keep you all satisfied. Also, Bioshock (previously a 360 exclusive) has come over to the Sony-side -- it's a trade-off. Embedded is the trailer for Resistance 2; Bioshock and inFAMOUS are after the break.

  • Electrifying new inFAMOUS screens surface

click to electro-size Zap! Bang! Pow! Those are the names we've given to three new screens of Sucker Punch's open-world superhero/villain game that have appeared on the official PlayStation blog. We think they're only fitting since each shot depicts Dylan, the good/bad guy from inFAMOUS, using his electric bolts to tear the town a new one. The game continues to look great, albeit very ... brown. Maybe these screens are just from the game's Brown District. (Okay, so we don't actually know that it has such a district, or even districts at all, but please play along?) Along with the screens, Sony mentions that it will have "a bunch of news" about inFAMOUS at E3. We hope the "news" is that the game is actually playable at the show (and less brown). Our frothing demand for this game increases.* After all, the Sly Cooper series offered some of the prettiest and most fun experiences on PS2. So when Sucker Punch – the folks behind the raccoon – makes an open-world game with super powers and drool-worthy looks, we're all over it. The UK's semi-official PS3 blog, Three Speech, got its digi-mitts on three new screens from inFAMOUS, which, according to the site, will be keeping GameStop employees asking if we want to pre-order it until ... 2009. Still, we'll also surely be seeing more of the game next month at E3. We'd better. Or ... or ... our frothing demand for this game will probably stay just about the same. *Thanks to IGN for the use of their Ikaruga (GCN) box cover quote to kick off this post. %Gallery-26262%

  • InFAMOUS not due until 2009

It wasn't too long ago that we last heard about inFAMOUS. If you picked up the July issue of Game Informer, you would've been treated to a nice, long eleven-page feature getting you all skittish over the sandbox gameplay. However -- and quite a big one at that -- your enthusiasm for being infamous will have to wait. Sony says that this PS3 exclusive won't be available until 2009 for PAL territories. Keywords here are "PAL territories" which confirms European distribution and at the same time pretty much tells us a North American date should be somewhat similar. We might not be able to play the game until next year, but we're pretty sure we'll see more on this title come E3.

It's been awhile since we heard from Sucker Punch about their upcoming PS3 game, inFAMOUS. Well, looks like the shroud of secrecy will be lifted in the July issue of Game Informer. The cover confirms that this will be a "sandbox game" (a la Grand Theft Auto IV). However, you will have "extraordinary powers" that come from a "cataclysmic explosion." It's looking dark, it's looking epic ... and it's exclusive to PS3. Game Informer is promising ten pages of info on the game. Once this issue comes in, our next trip to the bathroom will also be quite infamous. [Thanks, frankym!]

  • Game inFORMER covers inFAMOUS

First unveiled during Sony's E3 keynote nearly a year ago, Sucker Punch's inFAMOUS has done a good job of keeping entirely off the radar, despite a knockout trailer (found after the break) that left us wanting more. Well, "more" has come ... in the form of Game Informer's latest cover story, the details of which have begun popping up on message boards and in our inbox. According to GI's write-up, the game focuses on a protagonist named Dylan who possesses super powers. (In his case, the ability to fire off electric bolts all Zeus-like.) inFAMOUS begins with a literal "bang," with Empire City – the game's setting – descending into chaos following an explosion, a plague, government quarantine, and the rise of street gangs. So far, a definite far cry from Sucker Punch's previous creation for Sony, Sly Cooper.

Also in 2008 %Gallery-3823% First revealed a while back, Sony's The Agency is touted to be the first major MMO title to get released exclusively on a console. It takes some stealth, some action, some FPS, and some RPG elements to make a pretty decent looking title that could swerve either into the "overhyped junk" pile or the "hidden gem of the PS3 universe" pile. We won't know until it gets a release date. Read More PS3 Exclusive %Gallery-12752% Saying that Final Fantasy XIII is a major PS3 exclusive is an understatement. Even if you don't like RPGs, it's ignorant to believe these games haven't shaped the console world as we know it -- the titles on the SNES rocketed the success of that console, the release of FFVII cemented the original PlayStation as the best console released and FFX greatly assisted in the adoption of the PS2. This latest installment looks drastically different from the others, but we're hoping it turns out as stellar as the other titles have been. • New PS3 title announced: Infamous

The title is technically inFAMOUS, but that'd be silly to type every time, so we'll type it like a normal word. Anyway, Infamous is a brand new title that came out of left field at Sony's E3 conference. Watch the trailer above if you missed it. It looks like someone took the idea behind City of Heroes/Villains and KOTOR and slapped the two together into a fantastic looking experience. We especially like the short scene near the end with the bridge and the lightning and the destruction. Check it out, leave your thoughts!

  • Sony announces Infamous, new sandbox PS3 game from Sly Cooper devs

With GTA IV going to Xbox 360 as well, Sony's itching for some exclusive sandbox action for their Playstation 3. Enter Infamous, a new open-ended action/exploration game from Suckerpunch, the developers of the Sly Cooper games. Phil Harrison, COO of Sony Computer Entertainment, introduced the game at Sony's E3 2007 keynote, showing what appeared to be in-game footage of a main character using numerous superpowers. An odd blur of City of Heroes and Crackdown, players will determine whether they want their characters to become heroes or villains in the course of gameplay, with supposedly different powers and missions as a result. Very little is known about Infamous at the moment, and with no rough release date mentioned, the game is presumed to be in the early development stages.
