The Guild DVD is available for pre-order
Many exciting things have been happening lately for fans of The Guild, the 'sitcom webisode' that we often post about on WoW Moviewatch. Not only did they recently open a web store that sells shirts and other goodies, but the complete DVD for season one just became available for pre-order. It's actually a great deal. For $20, you'll get the entire first season, two exclusive gag reels, commentary, interviews, subtitles, and even audition footage. The Guild opens up shop online
Our favorite video web series, The Guild, has opened up an apparel shop online -- there are all kinds of different T-shirts and gear you can pick up, with art from your favorite character to even a Cheesy Beards logo (the casual restaurant place they all meet up at as a guild). There's even a section of miscellaneous stuff -- not sure why you'd ever need a coaster with The Guild's members on it, but if so, there you go.There's also a page set up for the upcoming DVD release of the series, though there's no price yet set, and while you can see the art and design, it's not quite up for sale yet. Soon, we hear. If you're as big a fan of The Guild as we are, this seems like the perfect way to show your support.
WoW Insider Show Episode 39 now live, with special guest Veronica Belmont
The latest episode of the WoW Insider Show is now online for your listening enjoyment over at WoW Radio, and it was an interesting show. The Internet's Veronica Belmont was kind enough to grace us with her presence, so we spoke with her about what she's been up to in the past with Mahalo Daily and more recently with Tekzilla, including her interviews with Leeroy Jenkins and The Guild, and we talked about all the most popular stories in the last week of Warcraft, including but not limited to: The infamous Wrath alpha leaks -- we didn't talk about specifics, but we did discuss with Veronica what this means for Blizzard, and what effect, if any, the leak might have on the expansion's release The Glider bannings, and all of the rumors swirling behind that one Whether Karazhan is for entry level raiders or not, and what that means for 10man raiding in the expansion And we talked about Age of Conan's release, and what WoW players thought of that game Additionally, we answered some reader email (including trying to decide what Turpster will do to ding 70 on his Shadow Priest) -- if you'd like to send us some of that, just drop a note to theshow@wow.com and maybe you'll hear your email on the next show. SmallWorlds announces open beta
There must be something in the (virtual) air. If this year doesn't see everyone moving en masse to Flash-based, personal virtual worlds cum social spaces, then it certainly isn't for lack of trying. SmallWorlds joins Whirled and Metaplace as virtual worlds you can embed in your own blog, forum, home page or what have you. Need a place to watch "The Guild" with your friends between rousing games of Chinese Checkers? You got it. SmallWorlds can bring YouTubes, Twitters, Flickrs, games and more into your little isometric 3D corner of the web. Avatars are fully customizable, and so are their pets (!!!). SmallWorlds is going into open beta June 2 after eighteen months of development. They'll be letting the first thousand people who sign up for the beta in a week early. Episode 10 of The Guild: Boss battle!
Buoyed by their success against Bladezz, the guild takes on the awesome might of the boss; but this is a six-man raid! How can our heroes possibly hope to triumph with only five? Who gets pwned? Who gets pudding? Who has the Notary feat? And where the heck are Clara's kids? All (but one) of these questions will be answered in this, the season-final episode of The Guild's first storming season! The Guild, season finale: Boss Fight
The Guild ends its first season as all good raids usually end: with a big boss fight. Zaboo's mom appeared in the last seconds of the previous episode, and in this one, the Guild pulls and... well, you'll just have to watch and find out whether it's a wipe or whether the loot drops. I have to say, it is pretty classic -- I officially renounce my complaint before that they've never shown ingame action. Out-of-game action like this is much more fun to watch.Curse also interviewed both Felicia Day and producer Kim Evey about what it's like making the show (it sounds pretty rough, actually -- hopefully Felicia won't get so famous that she doesn't have time to do this any more), and in there they mention also that DVDs of the whole thing are coming soon. So maybe if they put something up for sale, we can make sure that these guys get rewarded for all the great work they do.There's no info yet on Season 2 or when it will come, but considering that this episode is led off with a big reminder that this is an award-winning and viewer-acclaimed series, we're guessing it won't be too long.Like The Guild? The Guild visits Blizzard HQ
The cast and crew of The Guild got invited by Blizzard to come take a tour of the new facilities the other week, and they have a writeup on their website right now (written by Jeff Lewis, who plays Vork on the show) of their trip. Sounds like a lot of fun -- they got to tour the place, obviously, checking out the Hall of Fame, the gym and cafeteria (including the official "Blizzard Trays" area -- that sign makes me laugh), and the main offices. They also got to sit down and each lunch with Mike Morhaime, and then got to play both Starcraft 2 and some Rock Band with the staff. No Wrath?Blizzard sent them home with lots of swag, too. I was under the impression, especially given the comments on our last Guild post, that we weren't really sure that the game these guys were playing was World of Warcraft -- they've never said the name, as far as I know, and we've never seen any character shots. But Blizzard disagrees, apparently -- they've very sure The Guild is playing WoW, and they gave them a super nice tour for being a part of the game and the community.
Episode 9 of The Guild: Owning Bladezz
The guild gathers to duel Bladezz for the guild bank. Bladezz is given the choice: repent or rape, and although no nipples are in evidence, there is leverage. Clara is not, in fact, smuggling hams -- though nobody really believed that she was. Who does Tink defeat during the battle with Bladezz? What monster boss must the guild face? How did Codex's pap-smear turn out? Just what is Bladezz' dark and sinister secret? Is this the most awesome tea-bagging of all time? All this and more in episode 9! The Guild, Episode 9 released
Episode 9 of The Guild is up, and it's confrontation time. The guildies meet each other in RL again to take down the bank ninja Bladezz, but yet another boss battle looms deep on the horizon. Y'know, not that we don't love this series (we do), but has there ever been any actual gameplay footage here? Am I the only one that would kind of like to see them in their characters, maybe raiding into Karazhan or wherever else they're raiding?Maybe there's legal issues or something involved (but surely Blizzard wouldn't mind, right?). At any rate, another fun episode for The Guild (Tink needs to get some new DS games, I beat Mario like years ago), and it seems like things are coming to a boil on this storyline. The Guild posts Episode 8, wins awards around the 'net
Episode 8 of The Guild is up for your viewing pleasure, and the whole cast rebounds in the aftermath of Zaboo's rash action last time around. And tragedy strikes when a familiar face returns. In fact, it's a familiar "toolface." Funny.And in other Guild news, you can probably chalk us up as hitmakers now -- they won that series YouTube award they were up for, and in fact picked up another award as well over at Yahoo! Video. And Felicia Day, writer and star of the series (whom we interviewed back in the beginning), is picking up some buzz as well -- she's not only shown up in that Cheetos commercial you've seen like 500 times now, but she's going to be starring in a (trust me, if you haven't heard this yet, your mind is about to be blown) a musical web series called "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog," which also stars Nathon Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris, and written and directed by none other than Joss Whedon. No, I am not kidding -- it's a fanstravaganza.So exciting times for The Guild. Hopefully they can figure out what to do about the "toolface," and hopefully Felicia won't get too famous to remember her little web series about World of Warcraft. Save Zaboo!

Desperate times and desperate measures. A high place and a loop of Cat-5. More about Zaboo's mother. The threat to the guild bank. The threat of the video. The beginnings of a daring plan, and the beginnings of a daring escape. Can the talented guildies match their skills against real life and Zaboo's mother? The Guild on Mahalo Daily
Veronica Belmont of Mahalo Daily had the opportunity to interview Felicia Day (Codex, the healer) and Sandeep Parikh (ZABOO, the warlock) of The Guild at SXSW. The interviewer gives the viewer a picture of how the guild got started and where it will going from here. The Guild up for YouTube series award
Our favorite little web video series, The Guild, has been nominated for a 2007 YouTube award in the series category, and voting is going on right now over on YouTube's awards page. There are a lot of different categories to choose from, but if you click on "Series," you can see all the nominated web series, and The Guild is in the list down at the bottom. This isn't the first award they've been up for, but on the blog they claim it's one of the biggest.In the interests of fairness, we should remind you that you should vote for the series you like best -- Collegehumor's "Street Fighter: The Later Years" series is a funny bit of video, especially if you're a fan of the old fighting game. But we here at WoW Insider have a soft spot for The Guild, not only because it captures so perfect (and so weirdly) what it's like to have friends you've only known through Azeroth, but because, you know, they're WoW players, too.

Codex is under-siege in her home, much like Gondor under the assault of the Witch King's armies. Zaboo's mother is -- well let's say that it is easier to see why Zaboo is the way he is. Tink sorts out child custody with Vork over Clara's children and turns out to be every bit as good as Clara at mothering them. In this, the latest episode of The Guild, not only do we see the aftermath of last episode's surprise visitor (and the result of the babysitting argument), but the worst thing that could possibly happen happens: yes, guild drama finally rears its ugly (and "naked-ed") head. Plus, the episode ends with a shocker that nobody could see coming!Good stuff as always, and I think the sniffing in the beginning might be my favorite joke of the series so far. You have to wonder where they're going to go from here, though-- the Zaboo story seems like it's about to get all tied up, so to speak. Looking for more of The Guild? Those loony guildies of The Guild are back for episode number 6, and things are rocky after the real-life meeting at Cheesybreads. We get a (scary) glimpse into Codex's romantic past, Zaboo still won't stop with the weirdness, and Clara needs some help with the kids, which leads to even more friction between Vork and Tink.But things promise to get interesting next time around-- someone shows up at the end who might finally have the ability to set Zaboo straight once and for all. A very guild Christmas
