Codemasters' chief operating officer, Tony Williams, has decided to step down after a four-year tenure with the UK based publishing company, MCV reports. While Williams' name may not sound familiar, the decisions he was a part of in his 20 years in the industry will be recognized by both hardcore gamers and the mainstream media. Williams held the COO and Co-Chairman positions at Take Two Interactive where he oversaw the acquisition of BMG Interactive, which held rights to the Grand Theft Auto intellectual property (all his resume really needs to say at this point). Williams also held a senior position at Acclaim (ages before they filed for bankruptcy in 2004). A spokesperson told MCV that Williams will work on special Codemasters projects as he phases out of his position. While our image would lead you to believe Codemasters is in trouble, the company has actually been on a new game streak, recently showing off DiRT 2, Fuel and Overlord 2. The image is also unrealistic because we hear Williams gets quite seasick.
