Originally announced back in January during Capcom's 10-year anniversary celebration for the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD will bring upscaled remasters of the original three DS games to iOS 5.0 devices sometime this fall. While the trilogy app itself will be free to download, the games themselves (Ace Attorney, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations) must be purchased, either separately or as a bundle, with the first two chapters of Ace Attorney serving as a demo. At the moment, no pricing information has been given, either for the games' individual costs or their bundle total. The port also includes "Everybody Object" mode, which allows the user to email or tweet animated gifs and sound files of Phoenix Wright catch phrases, which we're sure will not be abused or instantly run into the ground by every single person we know.%Gallery-163653%

  • Verdict delivered on Phoenix Wright 3 European release

Nintendo has confirmed a super official European release date for Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations, and it's soon: October 3rd. With any luck, the game will arrive before we're all sucked into the Swiss countryside (if there's anything that really gets our goat, it's our Trials and Tribulations play time being interrupted by the cessation of the universe as we know it). This announcement comes after months of fretting over whether the third Phoenix Wright game would ever come out in Europe. At one point, we had serious reasons to doubt it would, but recent ratings and a confirmation from series producer Minae Matsukawa have since prevented us from egging Capcom Europe's windows. Even if the series is now out of order, we'll take October 3rd.%Gallery-3478%

  • Send in the cosplayers

Cosplayers are perpetual purveyors of entertainment. Die-hard fans never miss a chance to dress up, while some fans would rather die. Some do it so well that everyone becomes a fan, if only for a moment. Anyone grossly offended by the glory of cosplay should look away now (we're kidding, keep reading), as we present the new Guiness World Record for "Most Video Game Costumes in One Place."It is estimated over 600 fans showed up to A-Kon 2008 dressed in video game attire, easily besting the previous "record" of 80 Marios. Characters from all walks of Nintendo life were found at A-Kon, and we've gathered a few of the best to check out after the break. Cosplay done right looks rad.

We've got our hands on some kind of confirmation (after a scare) that Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations is actually coming to Europe. Despite bunging it up just a little bit, fans of the series still wanted to wait around for the conclusion of the original trilogy -- before enjoying the adventures of a new young hotshot attorney with everything to prove. In an official Nintendo interview, producer Minae Matsukawa stated outright that the team is "in the middle of localizing it right now." It's playable, and they just need to make some final adjustments on the text. After that, it should be all systems go for Europe, in multiple languages. The only problem? Still no release date, which is all kinds of suck. Non-English-speaking fans will have to put up with the wait just a little longer, while all others might be better off shopping around online. Then again, if you go through those channels, you've probably done it already. Good for you!%Gallery-3478%[Via Aussie-Nintendo]

  • Germany summons Phoenix Wright 3 from the ashes

There's a light at the end of the tunnel in the ongoing European Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations saga. The good news is that those of you in Europe might be getting the game after all. While we're sure many of you English speakers have already imported Phoenix's final foray into law, people without English proficiency (and folks who just hate importing) have been unfairly deprived of this gem. Not only that, but some gamers are waiting to buy Apollo Justice until they get to play the third title in the series. The German version of the ESRB (known as the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle) has recently rated the game for a multi-language release, though, meaning that Capcom hasn't forgotten about your poor little Europeans. So, just hold tight -- you won't have to endure these trials and tribulations much longer, we hope.%Gallery-3478%[Via Siliconera]

  • Achtung, baby! Apollo Justice gets dated for Europe

While we're sure many English-speaking, Ace Attorney-loving Europeans arranged to have the game imported already, the rest of you will be glad to know that Apollo Justice has been given a release date.Europe can expect the game on May 9th, which is tantalizingly far away for fans, but we've seen worse than a three month delay. Take Trials and Tribulations for example -- where is that game?Nintendo of Europe still doesn't list an official date for Phoenix Wright's third foray in the courtroom, and we haven't heard anything from Capcom, but the unofficial date of March 21st has popped up on some sites like GameSpot UK. While a March date is unlikely (as we probably would have heard something concrete by this point), let's hope it's correct so that non-importing Europeans can play their games in order.See also: 2008's Biggest Blips -- Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney%Gallery-10043%[Via GoNintendo]

  • Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Deals and Dropped Prices

We'd be hard-pressed to present a better deal on a DS game than the newly price-dropped Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations. Except for, you know, those deals on the previous games. But those don't really supercede this deal, because you really need the whole series. Seriously, if you can read (which you can, we are absolutely certain), you should pick up Capcom's hilarious series of visual-novel style adventure games. The new $20 price point for Trials and Tribulations seems to be a universal price drop, reflected at Best Buy and GameStop so far. Amazon even has the game for an ultra-low $19.79, saving you twenty crucial cents.

2007 is almost over, and the end of the year brings joyous tidings of List Season. It's the time for taking stock of the last 12 months of gaming, and trying to make sense of it by putting things in numerical order. Join DS Fanboy for our best-ofs, worst-ofs, and other categories-ofs.We asked, and as always, you guys delivered. While the top-voted game of the year will probably come as no surprise to anyone, especially since it ran away with all the votes, the other five games that topped out in our readers' choice polls demonstrate not only the wide variety of content on the DS, but the depth of taste among DS Fanboy readers, as well. While the top games were above and beyond, every title feature snagged its fair share of votes. This can only mean one thing: it was one hell of a good year to be a DS owner. So which six games were most deserving of attention this year, according to you guys? Mosey on past the break to see the winners.

  • DS Daily: Video game crushes

Warning: This video contains spoilers While playing Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, we came across this hilarious scene in which the game pokes fun at the "frothing female masses" devoted to Miles Edgeworth (which, sadly, includes this blogger). We know that they're embarrassing to admit to, since -- as you well know -- video game characters aren't real people. Yet, many of us must concede to having a video game crush at some point in our lives, and it's time to 'fess up and come clean. So, what video game characters have you had (or do you have) a crush on?

  • Final Fantasy IV gently mocked by Ace Attorney

The Ace Attorney games have always sported first-class localized dialogue, managing to be witty and original in whatever language they choose. What's more, some of the references are delightful -- check out this oh-so-subtle nod* to Final Fantasy IV's dodgy Engrish translation, as it appears in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations. Blink and you'd miss it.If you're currently staring at your screen, slack-jawed and with a look of utter befuddlement, then head here for an explanation, so that you can feel as geeky superior as we do for getting it.* Our apologies for the rather blurry pic, but it gets the point across.

Just in case the idea of importing the oh-so-tempting Japanese DS release of Gyakuten Saiban 3 (now with super English track!) wasn't already bouncing around in your noggin, we thought we'd drop some screens and boxart for you. So who's with us? Last time we checked, August does come before September, and waiting is so very hard when it comes to our favorite lawyerin' crew. %Gallery-3478%
