    NextVR provides access to immersive sports and entertainment broadcasts for a number of virtual reality headsets, but it had a huge Oculus-shaped gap in its compatibility list. Now, the platform has finally rolled out support for the Oculus Rift and even for its standalone sibling, the Oculus Go. NextVR chief David Cole said the VR community has been asking for the feature for a long time, and the company is merely answering the call.

    Just because you can't go with the astronauts NASA chooses for the first manned mission to Mars doesn't mean you can't experience the Red Planet for yourself. A NASA-approved virtual experience called Mars 2030 has just landed on the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift and the PC through Steam. It puts you in the space shoes of an astronaut exploring 15 miles of Martian landscape, which was modeled after the planet's real surface as captured by Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's HiRISE camera.

    You won't have to wait much longer to play Rock Band VR. Developer Harmonix has announced that its virtual reality title is launching for the Oculus Rift on March 23rd, with pre-orders available now through Amazon. You should keep in mind that the bundles being sold, one for PlayStation 4 and the other for Xbox One, only include a digital copy of the game and a guitar controller.

    Samsung Gear VR users can start making friends in a virtual reality world now that AltspaceVR has released its app for the headset to the public. In fact, they can mix and mingle not only with other Gear VR users, but also with people who use the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift*. You can think of AltspaceVR as something like Second Life for virtual reality. It's the same social platform Engadget editor Sean Buckley once used to play a VR game of Dungeons & Dragons.
