XBLA in Brief examines two unusual Xbox Live Arcade titles this week. First up is Elements of Destruction which has players essentially playing as nature itself, using tornadoes, earthquakes, and lightning to destroy everything in sight. Sea Life Safari on the other hand, is a game about taking pictures of fish. See? Kind of different for XBLA, isn't it? Watch the new episode and decide if either is worth your hardearned MS Points.[iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly (Zune Marketplace link coming soon).[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[M4V] Download the M4V directly.

Sometimes, we like to think of XBLA in Brief as a public service. We get to tell people about the good games on Xbox Live Arcade like Commando 3, and, perhaps more importantly, warning them about bad games like Frogger 2. We won't go into details here (that's what the video is for, silly!), but suffice it to say that Commando 3 is decent and Frogger 2 ... isn't. It's another double dose of games this week for XBLA in Brief. This time, we examine Aces of the Galaxy and Roogoo. Aces of the Galaxy is an on-rails space shooter, whereas Roogoo is a puzzle game. What are the odds that both of them are actually pretty good? Frankly, we think those odds are fairly slim, but we're happy to say that both games manage to impress in their own way. Watch the latest episode and find out if either game is right for you.[iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly (Zune Marketplace link coming soon).[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[M4V] Download the M4V directly.

While not as timely as our other X3F Impressions features, today we're bringing you our take on the Nascar 09 demo that dropped earlier last week. While we showoff some of the new installments features, we also take a look back at Nascar 08 to compare how the two titles stack up graphically. With a significant boost in graphics and gameplay, Nascar 09 is a top-notch entry in the long standing series. While we can't say general racing fans will enjoy the experience, we are confident Nascar fans will finally be pleased after last seasons abysmal showing.Music:"20/20" by (De La Vega) Ivy League[iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly (Zune Marketplace link coming soon).[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[MP4] Download the MP4 directly.

Some people might get to play Ninja Gaiden II and talk about it, but then others (I call them the lucky ones) get to put some quality time in with the new arcade racer, Crash Time. Is it just us or did this game just get announced about five seconds after the demo hit Xbox Live Markeplace? We know it wasn't but all we're saying is the demo caught us off guard! Sure, we could have used it solely for selfish purposes. We could have kept it to ourselves to play over and over again (which, come to think of it, we already have). But no! Rather than hog the demo, we've encapsulated our impressions in a new episode of X3F TV. Submit your own ideas at: comcon [AT] xbox360fanboy [DOT] comThis week on Community Content we bring you a giant space ship in the sky! Again. While it might sound like the same thing, it's considerably different. In OberionTheGreat an attacking crew begins with normal weapons and a few extra vehicles and must infiltrate the docked ship in order to capture their flag and score one for the people of the planet.Add to this a barrage of fusion cores (which I kept calling coils in the video, cuz I'm awesome) and a few hidden surprises and this one could turn out to be another icy trip into a space siege. XBLA in Brief takes a look at Warlords and Buku Sudoku this week. On the one hand we've got yet another Atari "classic" and on the other we have ... Sudoku. It turns out that Warlords is actually surprisingly fun, though we're not sure we'd be willing to plop down our 500 MS Points for it. Buku Sudoku is ... Sudoku. It does its job well enough, and if you really need some Sudoku that doesn't fit on your lap, then Buku Sudoku might be just the ticket.[iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly (Zune Marketplace link coming soon).[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[M4V] Download the M4V directly.

For this week's XBLA in Brief, we welcome the arrival of (ahem) Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One. The first in a series of four episodes, Penny Arcade Adventures presents the very first episodic game to grace Microsoft's download service. The question that remains is whether or not it's any good. After our experience with the trial version, we'd say that it is (so long as you like Penny Arcade, role-playing games, adventure games or, even better, all three). Every week a new achievement is unlocked to help you continue your unhealthy obsession with the Xbox 360 meta-game.This week in Points>Life my unhealthy obsession with CBS' The Unit continues as I picked up Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and was told of a glitch that made ranking up a lot easier. While a few videos have been released with this information, we've collected some of the best practices and uses for the trick in one video. One thing we need to stress with this glitch is updating Rainbow Six Vegas 2 patches the exploit. There is a way around that, but we're not recommending that. That's what the comments are for! Also, watch The Unit.Music Credit:USMC Cadence - 'Fire it up! Feels good!' After a one week break -- no new XBLA games last week -- XBLA in Brief is back. This week we take a look at the new trivia game Wits and Wagers. Aimed squarely at casual gamers, Wits and Wagers emphasizes simple gameplay over the more hardcore elements of games like, say, Ikaruga. No sharp reflexes needed here. A few hours ago, Xbox Live Marketplace was treated to an early demo of The Bourne Conspiracy, the High Moon Studios developed title based on the best-selling novels by Robert Ludlum. We thought this was a great time to debut a feature X3F readers have asked us for in the past, video impressions of demos for retail Xbox 360 games. Ordinarily we have a catchy (or what we think is catchy) name for our video features, but this time we drew a blank. Have an idea for what this feature should be called?
