The vending machines of Japan
Whether there's a labor shortage or people there simply dislike having to interact with another person, we don't know, but we do know that you can buy almost anything from a vending machine in Japan: rice, toilet paper, eggs, fried food, porn — pretty much anything except another vending machine. Anyway, PhotoMann.com has a gallery of a bunch of the crazier ones they've found there, even managing to track down the white whale of obscure Japanese vending machines, one that sells "used" schoolgirl panties. It's quite a relief to know that the urban legends were true.
