Treo 650 arrives Monday
Unless something seriously catastrophic happens, palmOne is all set to make us fall in love all over again and drop the new Treo 650 on Monday. The specs are no big secret at this point, but CNET has what looks more or less like an official press photo of our new lust object.

HAHA!!!
I only started looking for a cell phone last week after arriving in North America a little while ago.
My new job has pressured me into having a cell phone - so I began my search this week.
After sellingmy PalmV beofre I left Australia - I was keen to to go the Cell/PDA combination.
I was thinking about the T600 & lo & behold I started reading about the T650.
All I can say is that I will go and grab one as soon as I see it at the store.
AWeSOME!!!!
But the CNET links is correct
I got to play with it yesturday at work. We are doing advertising for it. After having the 600 and having all the stupid things about it even though its a nice phone... the 650 corrects all of them.
The keypad is much nicer now, battery removal power off, and the features are just spot on. I will be getting my hands on this asap.
One version (CDMA or GSM?) has the number pad in a different color, the other doesn't. Anyone know which one is which?
I'm really hoping it's GSM with the different color.

I just wish Palm One got rid of the external antenna! Maybe that will happen in the next version along with WiFi.
Long...This isn't the 600 picture...you can tell because it has the bluetooth symbol as one of the programs, the upward smiley shaped keyboard, and the send and end call buttons. These are features not found on the 600.
This petition is for Verizon to get the Treo 650 in a timely manner, as they currently have no plans to carry it...
your post inspired me to write my dearest Xmas wish
Is there hope for me in the Treo 650? :)

Anyone got any idea when this will be available in the UK?
Wasn't planning to replace my SonyEricsson T610 just yet, but I am looking for a PDA and this looks good.
Found this website that is very dedicated to the treo 650.... check it out, sucks because i just found it today heheh

Tons of pictures, and specs, and comparisons with the 600
I was sort of getting excited about the thought of upgrading to this device from my p800, until I realized you cannot "write" on the screen. Being able to sketch diagrams, maps, etc is an invaluable feature and a good part of the functionality of a screen is wasted without it. Think about how useful a piece of paper is, now think about always having virtual paper you can store and send.
Guess I'm waiting for something else to emerge, the newer p900 and p910 are trickling out things too slowly for me to care about Sony's offerings.
The most promising thing I've seen is that Linux based Samsung thing where you can even rotate the camera around for including visuals in conversations, now that's thinking ahead, all these other devices are based on marketing surveys, not comprehensive vision of what a real personal communicator should be.
Oops, it does have a stylus and you can write on the screen, so I take back my main commment. :)
I was going to go with the Moto MPx220, but the Treo 650 just looks killer...definitely getting it as soon as T-Mobile supports it. Awesome!
I bought my treo 600 about 3 months ago - now I wish I wated... think there will be a trade up program?

Sprint took my Treo 600 back after a month when I saw the announcement for the 650. They were very nice about it and issued a full refund... can't wait for the 650! Anyone know when Sprint will offer it? (I heard late November.)
I'm one of the many people who are itching to buy the Treo 650 as soon as it is available. I'm looking forward to being able to access web pages from my mobile phone. However, it's a shame that the PDA unlimited internet plans offered by Verizon are outrageously expensive -- too expensive for me to even consider. ($50/mo?!)
It looks like I'll be switching to T-Mobile (or possibly Sprint) when the 650 is available. T-Mobile unlimited internet is a $20/month add-on. Verizon has faster internet and better coverage, but a difference of $30/mo is quite a bit. :/
I think this Palm will be better than the Tungsten T5.
so it seems theres no wifi, the one thing i really wanted... :(
:water
dose anyone know if you can trade in the treo 600 for the treo 650 (cant find any info on it) and what the treo 600 would trade in for.
HA HA HA HA!!!
YOU GUYS ARE LOOSING IT! THERE IS A NEW TREO 750 IN THE WORKS AND IF YOU ALL BUY THIS GADGET, IT WILL BE OLD BY THE TIME THE NEW ONE COMES OUT NEXT YEAR!
HAHHAAHHAAA!!!!!!!
Does it have voice dialing? Will it recieve calls when I am on the internet or im? Or go straight to voice mail? Thanks
I just bought a Treo 650 JUST because I am used to write ON MY PALM with stylus. At the shop they told me I could enter text with stylus. Now I see it is not possible... Is there any means or software to enter text with stylus, ON A TREO 650??
Please advise.
Thanks!
I acquired this PalmOne Treo 650 and I have dropped the phone, and now the LCD is messed up, how can I get it fixed. I am not going to activate it to use it as a phone, so I dont have an phone number for it.
