Lenovo's new 3G cellphone rips off the PlayStation Portable hard
Well that didn't take very long. It's not even out yet, but the first attempt to cash in on the
PlayStation Portable has arrived in the form of a new 3G
cellphone from Lenovo (a Chinese manufacturer) that knocks off the design of Sony's new portable game console right
down to the labels on the buttons. We smell a lawsuit.
[Thanks, Tony]

Why would they do that? PSP looks crap, and this will mean there are two crap looking devices out there.
Clem @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM

Lenovo? Didn't they just buy IBM's PC business? Would you buy a ThinkPad from these guys?
Ser @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM
The PSP is a SWEET piece of Tech...
Nintendo must be laughing their asses off?
No Threat?
You better be talking about the Gameboy Advance SP...
Because the Nintendo DipShit is pretty Much useless.
Explains why you voted for Duhbya...

I don't see how you guys can insult a such an awesome piece of thinking. "The PSP looks crap."
I think it's very sleek.
Rafi @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM
PSP, Ugly?
No threat?
...Yeah, and that's why the PSP is kicking the DS's ass right now. That's why the PSP can play movies, MP4's, and has a 128-bit processer...
And Nintendo DS...Hmm, no movies, no music, and 64-bit graphic processor. But no, Pictochat definately makes up for that(sarcastic).
*rolls eyes* the DS should have at least ATTEMPTED to look nice.

I could find no source cited, no model number or details of when/how this phone was supposedly released, and no sign of anything like it on Lenovo's (China) site - although I was a little disgusted flicking through their phone catalogs at how many obvious rip-offs there were.
Donnie @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM
The good thing is that Lenovo makes IBM's machines now; well I'll think about that. But for a cell phone, it looks a bit odd to use the PSP design as a cell; maybe if it had a touch panel.
Steven @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM
That's not a faked pic! The PSP doesn't even look like that! I mean, yeah the triangle, X, square, and O buttons look the same, but other than that, it's completely different! For instsnce, IT'S NOT SHINY!
Someguy @ Dec 19th 2005 12:05AM
I Do not own a PSP, but that is definatly not it.
- It has no sholder buttons
- The analog stick is a grey button
- It does not have the sound controls on the bottom

That's great. How's it doing over in the sales department, you know, where it actually counts, and determines whether or not they continue support for the device. That's what I though. DS is winning.
I own b oth though, so I don't care, but idiocy needs to be pointed out.
