Not quite the PlayStation Portable: The portable PlayStation 2
We're still not exactly sure whether the PlayStation Portable will arrive on time or not, but if you can't wait
until next year, Ben Heckendorn has a step-by-step guide to portabilizing your PlayStation 2 (the funny part is that at
the end of the how-to he admits he only owns two games for the PS2). Should keep you busy at least until the real one
comes out.

This guy has an impressive collection of portables. It's amazing that he came up with a functional (and sweet looking!) portable ps2 before Sony.

at least this PSP won't cause Sony to get sued by Apple...
Who can count the times Sony gets "unoriginal" with it.. (nah nah nah nah n-nah)..
I count the scrollwheel-esque music controls, the white cord, the actual box the thing comes in, and the back of the device..
luckily, the UI hasn't been ripped off; it's fully 100% Sony retardation...
and the iPod gets 15 hrs of battery life (on the iPod photo) this thing gets about 3 hrs.

Let's not muddy the waters here -- the "Playstation Portable" (PSP) is NOT a portable PS2. It has similar hardware, but only Ben's creation can play actual PS2 discs.

Man - I would buy one of these in a heartbeat. I wonder what are the chances of hooking one up with a chip and selling it on ebay...? hm - my e-mail address is ... ;

I have a revision 5 Atari 2600 portable that I bought from Ben a few years ago, and it still works great! Runs on a standard Sony Li-Ion camcorder battery, uses all of the old 2600 carts, plus has a 3" TFT screen, runs for 5-6 hours, etc.
This guy does amazing work with these portables...mine has gotten so many "oohs and aahs" from everyone who has seen it...after seeing this PSX portable, I may have to see if Ben has a trade-in program...hehehe :-)

Hi,
I would like to know if there are regional restrictions for the Sony Playstation 2 Portable or not. If not, then that means any kind of Playstation disc can work with a P2P anywhere in the world. Thanks, hope to hear a response from you soon.
