Samsung flexible LCD
So Samsung has made a 5-inch flexible LCD panel out of plastic (most
LCDs are made of glass) that weighs a scant 0.8 ounces and has a resolution of 400 x 300. Samsung is looking to roll
out (pun intended) the first flexible displays by 2007, with the first applications expected to be for notebook
computers and portable consumer electronics.

so i guess we're one step closer to having newspaper LEDs like in the movies.
Honestly, i think they would be a good call in laptops as they cut down weight but I'm not sure about them being a fashion accessory.
Anyone know how this compares with OLED technology?
Am I the only person who's strongly reminded of the 'global' from 'Earth: Final Conflict' on seeing a screen like this?
Even more so, why isn't somebody building those things? Surely with this flex-screen, that's the last real element of tech needed, no?
It'd be nice to see am image of the screen in flexible mode, i.e. not looking like a normal flat screen LCD!
Yea, all we need is mci to brand the thing and it would be just like in the show.
