The CycleScore

Here's a little something we spotted at CES, but since it didn't necessarily qualify as breaking news we haven't gotten around to posting until now. The engineering students at MIT behind the Cyclescore weren't the first to combine exercise equipment with video games (hundreds of thousands of discarded NES Power Pads will attest to that), but what they've done is attached a recumbent exercise bike to a PC, with controls in the handlebars. The game's creators deliberately decided that the game should bear no resemblance to bike racing, and instead the game they were showing off at CES was like a Space Invaders type game where you fly around and shoot alien spacecraft.
