Samsung SCH-A890 videophone reviewed

Samsung SCH-A890

Hot on the heels of Verizon's rollout of the Samsung SCH-A890, PC Magazine has a review of the phone and finds it to be just okay. While they like the phone's voice-recognition software, they're disappointed by the lack of Bluetooth, email, and other functions you'd normally expect on a phone that goes for $250 with a two-year contract. They also point out that, for a 1.3 megapixel cameraphone, it skimps on memory (it has just 4MB available for photo storage). And if you're really into Verizon's VCAST video service (which, other than the voice recognition, is really the main reason to even consider this phone), you can get the LG VX8000 for $50 less — and get Bluetooth, a speakerphone and Internet access as well.
