Motorola's EV-DO VoIP solution

Whaddayaknow, we were just talking about the prospect of rocking Skype on an EV-DO compatible cellphone when out pops the news that Motorola is going to be demonstrating an "end-to-end" mobile Voice over IP service that runs on EV-DO. And yeah, normally we'd grouse about how the carriers will stop this dead in its tracks, but Moto is actually pitching this as a solution for carriers, not as a way for subscribers to avoid using their voice plans. Given that with EV-DO carriers will have the bandwidth for this sort of stuff, it's not entirely inconceivable that once they improve coverage they'd move over to VoIP (and probably not pass whatever savings on to you).
