Onkyo iPod dock: pics
There were no pics to be found of Onkyo's new remote interactive iPod dock back when it was announced in February, but a few have popped up courtesy of a press release issued in Japan yesterday. Nothing too crazy as far as iPod docks go, but from the front it does sort of look rather cute. Did they intend to make it look like a goofy smiling ghost with one tooth, or do you think that was a happy accident?

Nice to see Engadget back up and running, but now no pictures load.
Never mind. Pics come up now.
This looks like the dock for my Rio Karma, without the cool blue light.
I've got an iPod and an Onkyo receiver, so I'm curious about this statement from a previous article:
"The bad news (isn’t there always some bad news?) is, you won’t be able to gander at the iPod’s track lists via the Onkyo amp display until they upgrade the system next year."
By "upgrade the system" does that mean "upgrade the dock"? Or "upgrade their receivers - of which you'd have to buy a new one to get this functionality"?
One of my biggest frustrations with the iPod is its lack of ability to "copy" the interface to something else... i.e. a remote with an LCD on it, or using the interface via a remote, and displayed on your TV when you've got the photo dock connected... What's the point of a remote if once I'm far enough away to need one, I can't read what songs I'm playing?
Whats up with the S-video out?
S-Video out is for iPod photo use on a TV set.
