NHJ V@mp VP-425 audio player with speaker dock
Japan's NHJ — known for its Che-ez! digital cameras and other fine products — has released the V@mp VP-425, a combo flash audio player and speaker dock. (Yes, the player has all the usual features: SD slot, WMA, FM radio, etc.) As pointed out by dapreview, the player connects to the dock via USB rather than a line-in jack, which allows the docking station to charge the player. That's fine; what we can't understand is why the dock, though billed as an integrated component, looks like it was designed for a completely different player. Then again, given NHJ's traditional close attention to product design, we're not really that surprised. (No idea when or where this will be available outside Japan; if you must, you can pick it up for about ¥12,800).
