TopTech's V8171 all-in-one TV/PC/DVR
We know there's a lot to love about the Sony Type V or Type X—but it doesn't have a whole lot to do with the pricetag. That's why we're so lucky to have an abundance of Taiwanese knockoff manufacturers like TopTech, who are more than happy to supply us with devices like the all-in-one TV/PC/DVR V8171. Feasting your eyes on a mere 17-inch SXGA screen could be a bit more pleasant for the 10-foot experience, but at least you're getting a box with a Pentium 4, SATA drive, multi-format card reader, integrated video-in/out, and even two PCI slots. They're claiming it's a "Media Center Solution," so take those capital letters to mean what you will—we're not going to hold our breath, though, that Windows XP MCE has anything to do with this thing.
