Buy a Roomba and help fight breast cancer: and it's PINK!
Ok, so we usually love to dis all over these pink editions of things but you know what? We rather like the
Roomba in pink anyway, even before the whole
feel-good effect of having 20 percent of its sale price donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It's
still the same old Roomba we know and love, with a colorful, socially conscious upgrade. What could go wrong?
[Thanks, n8]

What a horrid web store. Anyway, here's a link that will actually work:
http://www.irobotstore.com/default.html?U=4188
Or their product detail page:

Oh man, reminds me of SNL's "Woomba". It cleans your business!
Matt Baron @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
Where's the colon cancer Roomba?
James @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
I thought it was the Woomba at first too :)
So that's the trick @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
So that's the trick is it? We get everybody to buy a Pink Roomba and on C-Day we set them all loose against Breast Cancer. Brilliant!!
This makes a lot more sense than the locals' misguided "the weekend to end breast cancer". You see, they've been inundating us with ads that explain how, if everybody walked 60 miles this one particular weekend breast cancer would end once and for all... I personally hope the two plans are set loose in the same weekend, it should be a good show with all the Pink Roombas and Pink Fat Ladies storming the Breast Cancer's front-line on the beach. Whee!
Exbzurg @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
^ and don't forget to release the woomba's on the same day too uhh... clean up their business! that would make them run 60 miles in no time!

STTT: Why do you deem all people with Breast Cancer to be fat women? Further.. a inovative company tries to do something that should be seen as socially responsible and the posters here decide to turn it into an SNL skit.
My wife is going into surgery on Wed. due to breast cancer. This is a very serious health condition, life threatening in fact and plan old fatal to about 20% of women even after treatment. Can't we have some compasion at least for a minute?
Sheesh
STTT @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
sesitive_man, my father died of cancer, so I understand what you're going through. What I said was half straight humor, half sarcasm at the marketing behind these campaings. To spell it out a bit, Roombas don't "fight cancer" and a 60 mile hike won't "end cancer", they simply raise funds for cancer research, just that and nothing else.
No matter, I won't apologize for my joke, because there's /nothing/ wrong with it, just like there's /nothing/ wrong with your rant. Peace, I hope your wife gets well and you laugh again soon, and I hope governments start funding scientific research more and militaries less.
